So my truck is plagged with the stabilitrak light since a year. Which at first was intermittent then permanent after couple months. After 8 months or so of it(after the 3 years warranty nothing electrical is covered), the car was coding for a binch of things like the steering, the brake fluid level (which was fine) and all abs sensor, abs pump. All those sensor were tested and everything was fine. So it was definitely an electrical gremlin.i check the g218 ground and the 2018 do not have this problem. Dont lose your time checking it; gm did make a cut in the isolator from factory. Friend tried to erase codes and It would not go away. Couldn't use cruise control with stabilitrak light on. Then a mengine code with p0090 p0091 appeared and engine power reduced with it. I wish at that point the truck burned out. Couldn't erase the code with his Snap on scanner. Went to a electrical specialist and he inspected the 3-4 area where the harness under those trucks are weak. All good. He changed the brake fluid sensor 15$. He inspected the PCM connections all good. The codes went away, which was a pure random fact. I changed front brakes and put back winter tires in stock sizes right after. Then the codes all reappears. Back to the garage and the code disappeared. Everytime the codes/ lights disappeared was with dry weather. Rain/ snow would trigger both. A big nightmare at that point Already. Reminding you its a 3yo truck with very low mileage, treated with anti rust, no towing, a little bit of off road here n there, 99% om the pavement. The specialist called his garagist friend in Alberta be cause everyone has a pickup there. He told to check a spot in front, engine compartiment, inner fender corner rubs against a harness; the harness was half cut at the rubbing point. This was causing the stabilitrak intermittent problem. He redid the wiring in the harness. Then the check engine codes (fuel regulator code); under the truck, he started to unwrap the harnesses one by one and manages to test wires one by one in there. He finds a dried out wire and shake it; wire snaps! Its a green wire. It was the one causing the check engine. Front left bearing is done. So whats my verdict? This truck harnesses suck and they're not well made enough to last in a winter country like Canada. It's sad. I bet all trucks have their problems. Definitely the inner fender problem is a big flaw from GM. Be sure to check this out. I won't be keeping this truck in the long run, which was my plan at first when bought new.

Ok after a year of stabilitrak BS and no cruise control, things got worse; engine fell into limp mode. Car would barely move. Car is POS and unusable. Went to a electric specialist and he inspected the truck for the knows GMC weak spot; the 2 wire harness under the driver side and the one near the rear end. All good. He changed the fluid sensor. He inspected the PCM connections and all good. I get my truck back and no stabilitrak code. 2 days later, it's back. I install new front brakes and install stock size winter tires. My summer tires were bigger than stock; 285/70/17. I have a leveling kit front too. After 150miles, the stabilitrak disappear on the highway. Then comes back on. I decides to inspect the G218 ground trouble after internet search. Beware that 2018 trucks were fix; gm had a cut made where the foam insulator was getting stuck between ground. Then 1 day after, it's gone after a day of work completely. So, after all, it's just a matter of get your speedo calibrated. Yep, get your damn Speedo calibrated!!

Hi, I have the stabilitrack off ON in the dash. No more cruise control. On the scan I get: -no/low voltage abs pump fault but it starts with the scanner manually -the speed sensor picks up a reading on live scanning. So they should be fine. -no related fuse seems broken -wheel angle sensor is triggered after sometime the stabilitrack has been on -low brake fluid, which I topped off 5 days ago (brake pads are at 25% life) Codes; c0263, u0077, u0126, u0151. The real first time the stabilitrack lighted was when I went thru a mud/ water puddle. It went away, then came back and then back and forth when raining or randomly. Now it's always on. It kinda fit with with the timing I installed bigger tires, 275/70 17 instead of 265/70/17 and never got the speedo calibrated. There was the ethanol sensor harness hanging at some point, but I don't think it has anything to do with it. The truck has no ethanol sensor and it's a dead end harness. We are now going deeper in this. I've Read about solutions that might work; -brake pedal sensor (maybe for the previous generation?) -brake fluid sensor -grounds; alternator / on the frame rail/ cowl/ Truck see gravel roads, deep snow, rain storm, Canadian winter, mud. Nothing extreme, but medium truck use. Anyone has an easy answer!?
