  1. Steve, good luck with the GM brass. I had zero luck with them. Had me escalated up to highest levels. My dealership was the one that delivered with an extended brake warranty and reimbursement for payments while it sat for 87 days waiting on parts. GM as a company didn't do anything for me. I opened a BBB case and was headed to arbitration when the part finally arrived. I decided to change it to a settlement. After that GM never responded to me and denied any type of settlement. Even thought they act sympathetic they are not. They don't care and these are stall tactics. My question never go answered... why are building trucks every day with this part but they cannot get one to my dealership to fix my vehicle? Never got an answer to that. Please let us know your status. Your issues and are mine were exactly the same with no failure errors or lights.
  2. After 87 days I got my truck back. The master cylinder was replaced. I have driven it about 150 miles and all is good to this point. Still don't think it should have taken 87 days to fix this but what can you do. I am now moving my BBB complaint to settlement to see what I can get for the lost time of use for my vehicle. Good luck to all of those still waiting.
  3. Day 70! No end in site. Dealer has done all they can but GM cannot/will not ship the part to them. Moved on to the BBB complaint process. Look for the "Limited Warranty and Owner Assistance Information" booklet with owners manual. You must follow these steps to escalate your case with GM. Page 23 of this book states... "Warrantied repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days." Page 28 and 29 describe the claims procedure.
  4. Day 57 and no end in sight! ? GM says they have a part in a warehouse and are "trying" to get to my dealership. Anyone live near a GM warehouse? I will send you a UPS label and maybe you can show them how to put it on the box. ? It is really getting funny at this point.
  5. Wow! Who do you know to get a part in 2 weeks? I have been waiting since August 14th! You sure were lucky to get a part that quick. We have heard nothing but no parts since day 1. My dealership has been great but I had to go to Twitter to get GM to escalate. I do have a GM rep that keeps in touch but often time the dealership is way ahead of GM on the information. I hope works with your truck. No one deserves to pay this much for a vehicle and then cannot drive it.
  6. That is absolutely crazy! That is like $35 per mile. Not even equitable. I wonder if you could go back void your contract since it was returned within most states 72 rescission period.
  7. 35 days and counting for me. Truck still sitting on the lot with no part available (direct from GM to me). I would encourage everyone who has their truck sitting at a dealership waiting on a part start tweeting and leaving FB messages for GM. If you tweet use the hastag #gmbrakes and lets see if we can get this thing moving. We have $50 to $70K plus trucks sitting at dealerships while we drive trucks levels below what we paid for. Now that GM is about to strike they should have a few parts laying around they don't need! Getting frustrated after 30+ days without my truck. Remember tween @GM @mtbarra @chevytrucks and throw in some news agencies so they can see this issue goes beyond the 2018s. Also use the hashtag #gmbrakes
  8. So, maybe they will recall these 2019s in a couple of years. I believe they have an issue on their hands with these electronic master cylinders. In my case there was no warning, no error lights, and I was lucky to get it stopped before running into 4 lanes of traffic. Someone is going to get hurt.
  9. It has been a month now for me. Still sitting there with no ETA on a part. I have to take my current loaner back in because I have put too many miles on it. They have another truck waiting on me. Dealership has called dealers across the country that show the part in stock. None will part with it because they have customers they need the parts for. 3 of the dealers said they got deliveries last week... so, maybe the part is flowing slowly now. My dealership calls daily to see if there is a part available. I feel they are doing the best they can. BTW... talk to your service manager about possible financial incentive if it sits long. I hear they can do things like that.
  10. Good deal for you! I checked on mine last week and no part in sight. Today makes day 21 without my vehicle. May have to start the lemon process after 30 days. I am sure they are still pushing trucks out of the plants that have these unavailable parts. Too bad for us folks that already gave them our money. At least my dealership taking are of me with a 2019 truck to drive. It is still not my truck but better than what they put you in. Good luck. I will keep updating as I hear something.
  11. So, when did this happen? How long did you have to wait on the part? I have been waiting almost 3 weeks now with no part in sight.
  12. Ouch... an Encore! They gave me a Nissan Rogue for a day then swapped me to a scaled down 2019 Silverado. I am happy, but it doesn't have a bed cover and I really need that security with my work. I would request a truck as soon as they get a demo available. My dealership has been very good in Tennessee and this is not their issue it is a GM issue. I appreciate the way they have dealt with me considering I bought the truck in Virginia. I will make do until I hear more in a couple of weeks.
  13. I don't understand your comments. Buyers should be aware of this issue. If 5 or 10 people have reported it in this forum then how many do you think are having the issue and not reporting it here. I am sure the number is much larger than you think. You are splitting hairs for no reason. If I had been going 5 MPH faster I would have been into a 4 lane highway. For all intents and purposes I "LOST MY BRAKES". The vehicle would not stop as it should and placed me in a position where I could have killed others or been killed. My brakes did not work and I had to coast to a stop. I don't think you understand you cannot stop the vehicle in any predictable distance or time when this suddenly occurs. I drove very slowly to the dealership and it would take me well over a thousand feet to roll to a stop with the brake pedal to floor and only driving 25 MPH when I initiated the slow to a stop procedure (it had become a procedure because my $65K truck had no brakes). I believe there should be a recall on these trucks. Why do you think my truck is sitting at the dealership parking lot and they will NOT let me have it back. In my case there was no warning or errors before or after the event. I have an Onstar report to prove that.
  14. I have not been in contact since I left my truck. It has been 2 weeks today without my truck. I am driving a loaner that is not quite what I purchased and I am making do. It is frustrating that I cannot use the amenities I paid for but at least I have a 2019 to drive. I am going to give them 2 more weeks before I get too vocal. I was told it could be a month or longer. At some point it reaches the lemon status. Too bad, I ordered this truck and after a long time of reviewing and evaluating what I wanted. Has taken the happiness away from the purchase. GM should consider that. This is my 6th warranty repair since May. I have have now been without my truck for well more than 30 days since early May. The other issues were multiple dash rattles that they found and fixed. The others were a broken fuel filler that caused environmental alerts, a bed cover recall, and a trailer software recall.
  15. Leaving a gas station yesterday and my 2019 Silverado with 7500 miles had no brakes. I could press as hard as I could and it would slow some but it had to roll to a stop. Luckily I did not roll into the 4 lane highway. No warning lights or anything. Had OnStar run a diagnosis and they showed nothing. Drove slowly to the dealership and they confirmed that the Master cylinder had gone bad. Was told these are now electronic fly-by-wire systems and GM was having issues. There are none available for replacement. Was told it could be a month or longer before I get my truck back.
