    Ok. If it doesn't have one is there any reason it shouldn't work? I stopped by a GMC service dealer to ask and they said they weren't sure, but newer model 2500s didn't come with non-towing mirrors anymore. Wondering if there are any potential complications with that...?

    I do not believe so. My understanding is that since it is not a diesel truck, there shouldn't be a temp sensor on the passenger side. Is there any way to tell other than taking the mirror off?

    Great information! I have an interesting proposal for swapping mirrors. My uncle has a 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 with DPN towing mirros (not sure what trim, but it does NOT have memory seats). I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Base model (one step above work truck trim) that has the DL8 mirrors. Neither truck is a diesel. We would like to swap mirrors with eachother and from what I can tell, the DL8 to DPN swap should be pretty straighforward, but wondering if anyone has expereince tiwht the DPN to DL8 "downgrade"? I'm mostly worried about any error codes that may come up or if I'll have to reprogram anything.

We are wanting to swap mirrors and I am starting to feel comfortable with the DL8 to DPN upgrade, but has anyone had any luck (or seen any threads) about downgrading from DPN towing to DL8 regular mirrors? We live about 2.5 hrs away from each other so if and when we do the swap out, I want to have some confidence it will work. My main concern is about any error codes that may come up. Also worth noting both trucks are gas. Thanks in advance!
