  1. Bottom line here... it’s like a game of ping pong. Hitting back and forth the dates of recalls, the specific models, where manufactured, which came first the module? The software? Updates? On Star? VIN numbers? For me personally as a new pick up owner my worry is... they said it’s fixed now but is it? So many variables and explanations but how did this happen?! So widespread. I’m not a mechanic and have zero knowledge or know how. I just know I was on my way to pick up my grandson from pre-school. I shudder to think if I had done so and how close Highway is to school I jumped on it before I felt the brakes go bad. Just fix this before a tragedy occurs. No, I’m not being a bit dramatic. I’m done ranting (sorry). Other than this issue, I love this pickup. I’m satisfied with the service I received after. But I’m still worried about driving it and every time I turn it off I worry if it will happen again. Susie
  2. Sure didn’t fix mine either. I hope they’ll figure out all these recalls and notices.
  3. This entire situation is pretty crazy. My brakes failed last night. I immediately pulled over and called. A tow truck took it to dealership. I’m STILL stranded in town where I had to pull over. I’ve been calling the dealership all day asking status and telling them I’m stranded. I’m told it hasn’t been looked at yet because they have to work me into their service appointments for the day. So it’s been almost 24 hours and I’m still stranded Waiting for dealership to look at pickup. It’s a 2019, I’ve had it for 4 months. Thank you all for the information, it helps in seeing the extent of the problem and what I may be looking at is resolving it. If it’s even possible. I guess patience is a virtue! Thank you everyone for the help. Susie
  4. Absolutely! It’s not like my radio isn’t working, it’s my brakes!
  5. For me, strangely I got the notification of an available software update on my in dash screen. I didn’t hit Install Now. I wanted to wait until I was home and in the evening to download it. I got home that evening and still didn’t request to download it. But it was the next day I got in to drive it and the brakes failed. I wonder if it downloaded the update the previous night. The pickup is at the dealership now getting looked at and fixed or I’d go see if it did download it. This whole situation is stressful. I had all the screen alerts as well. I had no idea there was an issue, a recall, nothing. I haven’t heard back from them yet and I’m stranded with no vehicle. Fortunately I got a ride to my daughters home to wait. Here I sit.
  6. It’s January 29, 2020 and almost same situation with my brakes happened last night. Driving on highway, stepped on brakes to slow down, they were “spongy” or took pumping to even slow down. Pulled off and had to coast to a stop as brakes finally failed. I called Dealership service Department immediately (it’s a new pickup, have 1,000 miles on it). They sent a tow truck and towed it to their service department. I’m waiting to hear what issues are and have it repaired. I couldn’t imagine continuing to drive it even if it were to go away after sitting for a bit (I didn’t turn back on to test brakes again). At the very least it needs to be checked out and me told what is causing this, then repaired. Then repaired or a resolution to issue found. I’ll report back what they found. It was pretty shocking to be driving along then realize my brakes weren’t working. Coasting to a full stop immediately and calling service was the best decision for me. The dealership was very helpful and promptly sent a tow truck. Hopefully they continue to resolve this.
