  1. So I change the trans fluid and filter this week and I didn't seem to help to much maybe alittle better but hard to tell. Drain and change again maybe? Also it's been happening for a while now but when I first start the truck in the morning it has a very small knock or tick only fir a few seconds till the engine warms up alittle I always thought it was the engine but you think it could be the flex plate?
  2. It's fixed!! I ran a ground wire from the dash to the frame everything works perfect again
  3. I will try pulling the fuses and isolating the circuits. If I turn the truck off and restart it still does it. And yes I checked that one and all the other ones under the hood and in the cab and on the frame Also someone recommended I try running a ground strait from the battery negative to the dash what do you think about that
  4. I had also looked at the wiring harness going into the cab and all looked good and it doesn't change weather it's cold or hot or raining or sunny
  5. UPDATE So I guess I would describe it as a brrrrrrr noise it happens in 2 gear at about 4k rpm and in 3rd gear at about 3k rpm I can also put it in neutral and drive it to 3k rpm and it will do it and same thing in park. I check the fluid and it's maybe an 1/8" of and inch to a 1/4" above the full line. The color of the fluid is still kinda purple but alittle brown. The noise is definitely coming from where the engine and trans meet.
  6. I've already tryed putting in a new alternator and battery and neither worked. But everywhere else on the truck under the hood and everywhere else is getting the correct voltage. The ecm is also getting the correct voltage. The voltage starts dropping only in the cab and does not effect anything else on the truck, the head lights don't dim or anything like that
  7. So it is definitely not tires being out of balance or u joints being worn. I don't take thus truck in the mud so definitely not mud or anything like that. I can definitely feel it right next to my foot when on the gas pedal. I will try messing with putting it in different gears and all that. Check engine light is on but it's for one of those stupid evap codes
  8. So I have a 2003 chevy 1500 with about 293000 miles on it. I have been having voltages drops while driving. The voltage will drop only in the cab to almost 9 volts at times. The abs light l, parking brake light and sometimes the airbag and security light will come on too. This happens when the hvac fan speed is above 1 sometime it even happens on speed one also. It also happens if the music is turned up or if any other accessories are on in the cab. The voltage is normal everywhere else on the truck the only voltage drop is in the cab. I located all of the in cab grounds and cleaned them. I have tried swaping the dash cluster, the hvac module and it has a new transfer case control module. I have also taken apart and checked all the connections on the abs module. It also have a new fan restor. I've tried unplugging molutiply different accessories like the fan motor etc and nothing fixed it. My mechanic friend hooked up his fancy snap on scanner and determined it was not the ecu. I have also tryed putting different alternators on it and nothing worked. When it started I had no after market accessories in the cab. I can't seem to find where the voltage drop is coming from. If anyone has ran into this let me know
  9. Its a 2003 chevy 1500 ls z71 So I've been noticing a vibration, it feels like its coming from around where the trans meets the engine maybe the torque converter. The vibrations happen at around 2000-4000 rmps. It doesn't happen every time I'm accelerating. It doesn't really make the truck lag to much but I'm just curious what could be causing it.
  10. I have a 2003 chevy 1500 z71 ls. I the abs light, brake light, and service 4wd like comes on and off. So I replaced the tccm and they stopped for a day. But now sometimes they come on and stay on and sometimes it they only come one when I am braking. I have already took apart the abs module and resodered any connections that looked bad wasn't many. And still the same thing. I also recently noticed that when I put the rear window defrost on it will make some of the dash stop working and make the abs and brake lights come on the only system code that is current is c0603 range actuator control circuit short to ground.

  12. So I have a 2001 chevy 1500 z71 with 243k on it. Almost every time I take a sharp left or right turn you can feel a popping almost right where my foot is in the floor board and the passenger can feel the same thing in there foot too. I check the wheeling bearing and the ball joint and they seem fine anyone have this problem before?
