New to the forums. Thanks for having me. I know I'm splitting hairs with this thread but I want to get the most I can but not have dirt/mud up the side of my truck.
2019 Silverado 1500 LD (old body style). Looking to put wheels/tires on. I'm good on the largest tire as I've read plenty of threads on that. What I'm more worried about is how much I can bring the tire OUT until it start splattering dirt/mud up the side of my truck. I did put nice GM mud flaps on. The first 2 weeks I had it I was going crazy because of the amount of mess up the side of the truck from not having flaps.
So with nice GM mud flaps on, how far out do you think I can bring the tire before it starts splattering up the side again? I was thinking about 1".
If 1" is an accurate assumption, I have a question about offset. If I'm keeping the same 20x9 wheel and I go from a +27 to a +12, is it safe to say I'm bringing the tire out 0.6" since 15mm is 0.6"?
And if that's correct, can I get a tire that is about 1" wider (.5" to the inside and .5" to the outside) to get me to 1.1" of moving the tire out?
So here's the scanrio.
2" level kit.
20x9 +12 wheel
295 55 20 tires
Does it seem like this should work all the way around and keep my tire tucked behind the mud flaps? Wheel should bring it out 0.6" and tire 0.4" for a total of 1". Again, I know this is splitting hairs but I want to understand what I'm doing before spending a couple grand.
