Ok from what I’ve read I thought the 8 speed was a pos? My uncle works for GM and he’s the one that advised I stay away from the 8 speed. He doesn’t primarily work with the trucks though. The 2018 Sierra I have now has the 5.3 with 6 speed and it’s not the smoothest shifting truck either so that makes sense.

Hello, I am in the market for a used 2014+ crew cab 4WD truck with a v8 (ltz, slt, high country, Denali). Like the look of the 2016+ but do NOT want the 8 speed. Do all of the higher trim trucks from 2016+ with v8’s have the 8 speed? Have read mixed things online so far. Thanks for your help and expertise!
