  1. If your K&N filter is an oiled filter you likely need to clean your MAF. I would do this first and see if where it takes you.
  2. The grease shouldnt cause an issue and will help seal and lubricate the boot. Make sure you didn't leave a vacuum line or breather tube loose.
  3. No problem. I had been meaning to come post. I didn't know I had a response or I would have made a point to do it last weekend.
  4. Thanks for the reply. Yes I had pressure according to the scanner. I didnt put the gauge on because I was satisfied with that and the amount on the plugs. It should have tried. I found the problem and have since corrected. My blunder but easy enough to happen if your not watching for it. Here is what I found: When installing the VVT phaser I let the cam slide back enough that it didnt seat completely and the pin cam out. As I snugged the valve it turned the unseated cam until it slipped into the first oil hole in the phaser and pulled up. This advanced the valves 90 degrees (no interference). I really should have recognized immediately. We all have our moments ?. She is running like a top now so maybe this may help someone to be a bit more cautious than I was and double check valves. I marked TDC on the shaft and balancer after installation to make it easier.
  5. I have almost completed an AFM delete on an 2011 LC9 w VVT. Single bolt GM cam keeping VVT. Truck was running fine other than a noise from a flat spot on a lifter roller. Truck cranks over easy. It's getting fuel, cam sensor counting correctly. 2 counts per crank rev. Counted cranking for 10 sec at 150rpm. (50 counts). Getting oil pressure Valves opening cranking over blowing out tailpipe. Checked #1 coil. Its firing. Grounds and 12V supply good to each bank of coil packs. I feel like the fire is off somehow but the cam and crank sensors appear fine. I must be missing something simple. I lost my plug adapter for compression test. But surely it had compression. Hope someone has a good suggestion.
