Blanco Silverado is correct, my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado doesn’t have cylinder deactivation.

I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 (5.3) Z71 crew cab with over 302k miles. I’m it’s only owner and it’s my daily driver and work truck. Original engine and transmission never rebuilt. I’ve worked it like a rented mule, since new, but done all the recommended servicing myself as well as the normal maintenance due to wear and tear. Can’t beat these GEN 1 Silverado trucks, so easy to work on. My only complaint is that the paint doesn’t seem to hold up to all these years in the Alabama sun but the frame is completely perfect (no rust).

2006 z71 with 275k. I’m the only one who has owned it. Just normal services and wear and tear parts replaced so far.
