  1. Not that anyone out there is listening or cares, but here's status of my issue... First, I learned that my cheep MaxiScan code reader only reads P codes and the ABMS fault is a chassi code. Secondly, I learned that the new AC Delco EBCM I'm looking to purchase will need to be re-configured by the dealer and the estimated cost is $140 Third, When I removed the EBCM, torx screws came out easier than expected, and disconnected it from the pump valve I reconnected the connector and inserted a new 25a fuse which blew. So I am now confident that the short was in the EBCM and not the pump valve assembly. I just ordered a new EBCM and will report back when its installed. Fingers crossed!!
  2. I'm still looking for advice on replacing the EBCM... will the new EBCM that i install need to be reset or reprogrammed by the dealer or can I simply replace the module, install a new fuse and assume that it will perform like the original? Thanks in advance for any help...
  3. Thanks for weighing in!! I did ask and then confirmed his approach myself...removed the connector from the fuse panel to the EBCM at the EBCM. Replaced the fuse and it survived. Reconnected the connector at the ECBM.. fuse pops. I don't have the schematic but the dealer claims that the fuse only powers the EBCM and is a straight run from the fuse panel to the EBCM. I suppose it could be the connector on the EBCM but that is all part of the EBCM. When I asked about the pump valve his reply was that they recommend replacing the whole assembly because " I would just be back in a couple years to have the pump valve replaced". When I read the codes before taking it to the dealer, there were was only one code... P050D, Cold Start Rough Idle... unrelated.
  4. My 2015 Silverado is popping the 25a ABMS fuse Dealer wants to replace the EBCM and Pump valve. I'm know my way with most mechanical and electrical repairs but this would be new. I would replace the EBCM and hope it fixes the fuse problem. Pump valve replacement seems like overkill. Does the module need to be reset or reprogrammed or is it plug and play? Should I pay the $2k or get out my torx socket and get busy? Any help would be appreciated.
