My o4 avalanche does not want to shift in to second gear sometimes I’ve been told it is voltage issue with alternator is this common in 2004 and if so what is the fix someone told me to run extra wire to hot post on alternator to the empty post that’s not used I did but all that done was fry my alternator if someone knows I would appreciate any advise before I waste another alternator
