  1. Yep, 6L80, here we go again. I recently had my transmission fluid and filter changed at just shy of 30,000 miles, and it came out a muddy purple-ish color, smelling burned to high hell. (I asked for a sample of the fluid and they provided) To my knowledge, the transmission has only gone over 200°F once, and that was for twenty minutes, max, while towing around 4500lbs. I asked the service writer (should’ve asked the tech directly, I know) and he said there was no clutch material or metal in the pan. It does hesitate when shifting and likes to jerk into gear, then on rapid decelerations, it likes to slam back to first gear while making a thud sound. My question is: How much longer can I realistically expect out of this transmission and is there anything I can do to mitigate the issues. Or should I just wait until it blows up?
