  1. Does that mean it will not work at all without getting in programmed? I definitely want my old miles on there, although going to the dealer is never a high priority for me. Can they program it installed in the truck, or do they have to program the cluster independently?
  2. I have a 2019 Sierra 2500 with what appears to be a bad cluster. My truck is the lowest model, with the smallest screen in the center. (My screen is dead and so is the speedometer) Looking for replacements, I know they had better clusters with a bigger screen in higher spec models or a Denali. Can I simply plug in one of the "better" clusters to my truck? Or is this more complicated than that? Would I need more parts than just the cluster?
  3. You could never even use half of that output unless your truck is so modified as to be unrecognizable... No, not for stereos, unless you are some kind of world champ. Not for exterior LED lights. Welding maybe? If your dash is "flickering" that has noting to do with your alternator, more likely a bad cluster. When you're tying to make so much power, drop 12v and go with a 24v or 48v system. (My truck has a full 48v electrical system) 12v at ridiculous amperage is incredibly inefficient and hard to make use of. It also increases risk of fire. My truck does not have an alternator, it has a 200A solid state 48v>14v converter to be my "alternator" and 10KW of lithium batteries onboard. I can also power my entire house with the truck when the power is out.
  4. I just bought a 2019 Sierra 2500 about a week ago. Yesterday, the little screen in the cluster that shows the mileage (Lower trim style) went blank. I can see that it is backlit, but it's only showing black. Today the speedometer says I'm going about twice as fast as I am, and somehow my infotainment screen shows outdoor temp in C instead of F now. I unhooked the battery and left it for an hour. Nothing. All the gauges do a full sweep when starting up like they should. I never touched or changed any part of this system before unhooking the battery. It all worked before that. Any ideas? This is kind of an emergency because I have to get the odometer inspected to register it. There is no odometer to read!
  5. Makes sense. It lived in Colorado, so much more useful than here in NC. Where would I look to find the Python module? Maybe a model number or something could help. I can ditch the factory remote, and just use the Python - if I can make the lock/unlock work! I'm good with wiring, not so much with "electronics". I'm starting to think I might be old...
  6. I just bought a 2019 GMC 2500. It came with 2 remotes and one key. One remote is a very worn factory remote, locks/unlocks fine. The other remote is made by Python. The lock and unlock buttons don't do anything. The "AUX" button doesn't do anything. Much to my surprise, the red star button that looks like a panic button, is actually remote start. And it works! What is going on here? Did somebody install an aftermarket remote start? I have to use two different remotes to lock or to start it. The factory remote does not have the start button. The factory window sticker does not say anything about remote start option. Everything else on this truck is 100% stock, it was a lease vehicle. Could it be possible to get a factory fob with the correct buttons and program that to work? I have no idea where to even look at this thing, they lost me in the electronics around 20 years ago. Or maybe I should be getting the Python system to open the locks?!
