Same boat and no luck finding a part either at the dealerships or from a salvage yard carrying any of the vehicles that use the same part. I have a part on order but from looking at others results with trying to find an interchangeable part, I don't have high expectations. There were 4 on backorder at one dealership I called and 2 are backorder where my vehicle is being serviced at. My truck is just out of warranty and after not having my 3-4 months last year due to 2 different transmission issues, this is really tarnishing my thoughts on the GMC brand. Even if the part does come in, there is such a backorder I don't see my vehicle being fixed when the initial delivery of parts are received. From research it looks like this occurs due to poor sealing and water getting in the units. If I do get a part that works, I'll probably try to seal it better. Seems like if there is this much of a backorder, they would be taking the bad 13450028's and trying to fix them and then replace them with new once their stock is replenished. The fact that they would be producing new vehicles with the same or similar part, while not taking care of those that already own like new vehicles is even more frustrating. So, they are just going to keep putting more vehicles out that will have the same part fail causing more issues and more backorders.
Also filed complaint with NHTSA.
