Can anyone help me figure out my c5500 . Bought a c5500 box truck (EX-UHaul ) for cheap . 8.1 gas with Allison 2200hs (unsure) . Part # Plate is missing from the transmission… I was told it has a 2200hs called dealer they don’t know ****** . Anyways , truck runs good trans doesn’t engage after previous owner brought it back from shop that did tune up , fluids and filters plus radiator replacement. Next day he started it and the symptoms were neutral in every gear . I checked the trans dipstick and it smelled burnt and didn’t look like atf. Looked like motor oil . I’m planning on servicing it this weekend. I let the truck warm up for about 15 min and it seems like it wanted to engage forward and reverse but felt like it had no atf . That’s why I’m think they put the wrong fluid . Thoughts ?? If I need a new trans can I use the Allison 1000 !!? Thoughts !!?
