  1. Maybe it comes up "backordered" because only dealerships are authorized to do the download process, that would be my guess at least. I'll have to look into it more and decide if I wanna do that or not, as long as it's louder I'd be happy
  2. How did the process work? I'm guessing I'd go to the dealer and ask the service department about it? If it would actually turn out to be that $395(ish) I would definitely consider it, otherwise if they decided to throw in outrageous labor cost to sit there and upload it I'd probably say no thanks
  3. Interesting, yeah I see what you mean. I might have to look into the calibration or figure something out that would work, thanks!
  4. Hey y'all, I just recently bought a 2025 6.2 RST with the active exhaust. It's pretty good for stock, but I want something like my 2018 had (Carven R). I wanna keep the valve for the option to be quieter but I also want to cut off the factory muffler and make her a bit more aggressive, I'm not sure if I should go with the R Series again or if the TR would be enough? What do y'all think?
  5. Hi all. So my truck has started to show signs of the torque converter giving up. 2018 5.3 with the 6L80 with almost 107000 miles. There's a hiss coming from the front of the transmission and it seems to slip just a little every now and then with heavier throttle, but otherwise still drives fine. It's been this way for a week or so, and I've started driving like a granny in hopes it delays the inevitable. What I wanna know is how long do I have left? Could the truck make it for another month or so (~1800 miles) if I keep a light foot?
  6. Hey y'all. I just recently bought a Carven Competitor Series catback for my 2018 5.3 Silvy, which is coming next week, and was just wondering if anyone has had experience with that vs the MBRP single exits. I right now have the MBRP Armor Black single exit on my truck, and I really enjoy the sound, but after 3 years it's rusting to pieces. I want to know if the Carven Comp is more aggressive? I switched hoping it would be a throatier sound since I believe the Comp Series just uses the R muffler if I'm not mistaken?
  7. Hey y'all. Just a quick question for the Carven guys out there. So I just bought a Carven Competitor catback for my truck on the 20th (11 days ago). I was just wondering for y'all that have experience with Carven, do they always take this long to ship their systems? Should I just keep waiting and it will ship when it ships? I know they're a small team but this seems like a long wait for what they say is already in stock.
  8. Interesting, so nothing good huh. I'll probably just have someone look at it and hopefully it's nothing too bad. Appreciate the suggestions, thanks!
  9. Hey everyone So recently this year my truck has gotten a pretty rough negative camber in the rear, which is worse on the driver side. From what I understand you can't adjust a solid rear axle for camber and toe, so I need some tips, since obviously that means something is not good What could be the culprit? What should I look for? Are these things expensive to replace? I really don't want to have my tires bald on one side because of this, anything helps, thanks!
  10. I just ended up taking out the well liner and wheel and went from there, though getting the liner back in right wasn't too bad I wouldn't want to do that again. What you said would likely be easier. As for the misfire, yeah that would make sense, but just ended up changing the wire and plug and it went away in my case.
  11. Very possible given 7 is back next to the steering column, bit hard to get the socket in there without bumping stuff. Also possible it broke coming out. Was either that or wire came loose after a couple days, like you suggested. Either way, she seems to have cleared the codes herself and is back to normal, as of now. Appreciate the advice!
  12. Long answer: my truck has almost 200k miles on it, was starting to see wear and mileage loss and decided it was time to change the plugs, and do the rest while I was at it. I live by Summit Racing and that is where I get my parts, they're MSD coils and wires with AcDelco plugs. Short answer: I can do what I want with my truck. On the other hand, the truck seems fine now, read misfire on cylinder 7 so pulled the plug out and porcelain broke apart. Replaced the plug, reconnected the wire and all symptoms, so far, seemed to have gone away
  13. A simple job, yes. As you said, new doesn't equal good, and clearly the truck doesn't like something I'm just some college kid so I don't know a whole lot yet. Just trying to figure out what that something is she doesn't like.
  14. Yea... hopefully. It really seems like something small but we'll pull whatever code it's reading and go from there. I'll update again later on when I have more info.
  15. There was one we regapped that was pretty badly off, rest of them were all pretty much the same but no telling for sure without pulling them back out to check. Likely just going to take it to dealer and have them pull them to check, we spent so much time on it I'm not pulling them myself again Engine light randomly came on today as well so whatever code it reads might point in the right direction
  16. Used AcDelco plugs, same part number as in my manual, 41-114 I believe it is
  17. Checked all the plugs and wires today. Everything feels good and solid. Another thing I noticed is constant backfiring at the high end, like 4500+ rpm or so, maybe higher. And still doing the other things I had mentioned before, though the shaking under light throttle (seems) to be less I'm pretty much at a loss at this point, I don't know what else could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Hi all, so recently changed spark plugs, wires and coils on my 2018 5.3 Silverado. Changed all but cylinder 8 (dumb, I know) given it's quite hard to reach and we were already hours in by then. Truck drove totally normal first day or two after, but now it's been off. Most noticeably starts shaking under light throttle at cruising speeds, as well as rpm drops and lighter shake at idle (any gear). Other than this drives normally as it should Thinking it either has something to do with new plug and wires on all but cylinder 8, throwing off timing and misfiring? Or a bad wire connection. I don't believe it's a bad part, otherwise problem should have persisted from the start. Just wanted some insight from others before spending more or taking it somewhere for diagnosis. Will follow up later if what I listed above fixes the problem.
