  1. Thank you. I’m also opening a case with NHTSA. It is extremely dangerous to have the emergency brake engage while driving down the road and completely locking the rear end. Almost caused a pretty big accident. Had a been on my way home from work doing 80 on the highway there most definitely would’ve been an accident.
  2. This just happened to me while I was driving. No dash lights flashing or anything. Driving down the road and truck skidded to a stop. Apparently it has to do with the faulty ebcm which is recalled. I was told it is miscommunicating and engaging the emergency brake which locks the rear axle.Dealer told me it was fixed twice under recall and are now charging me $1800 which is $1,000 more than I was quoted when I told them to fix. Mine did not release like yours. It stayed locked and continued to lock within 7 feet of trying to drive again. Had this happened on the highway I’d probably be dead. I have a message in to the NATIONAL CENTER FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY. I feel this repair should be covered under the original recall as it’s very dangerous. When it happened I was only driving 5 miles an hour pulling up to a red light and I was almost rear ended. Literally came to a dead stop with my foot on the pedal. I was a mile from the highway where I would’ve been doing around 80 mph. GM customer care doesn’t care either. Dealer said $780 to repair and I didn’t hear back until it was repaired and was told $1800 was the total.
