Had the engine recall inspection today for my 2024 6.2l Silverado. Naturally, the dealership says it passed (of course they don’t want to do warranty work) and when I asked about the extended warranty that I had read about I was told that’s not the case and I only had the remainder of the original factory warranty. Can this be right? Also, since I bought this truck I have had an intermittent multiple cylinder misfire. Several times a week the engine begins violently misfiring, sometimes even triggering the CEL to flash. If I pull over and turn the engine off then restart it goes away. I’ve had it in to the dealership twice now to check this, once back in April and now again today while performing the recall work. Both times I’m told that they can see the P0300 codes in the history but but that because the CEL is not currently on and they did not experience the misfire themselves there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions on where I can find out about the warranty and what I can do about the misfire since the local Chevy dealer basically tells me to pound salt?

Update: Had the service with the dealership and as I feared, they couldn’t find anything wrong or replicate the problem. They did find a P02F5 code which is a fault in the fuel system and a P0300 misfire code but those were not currently active and just in the history so they said they could do nothing unless the CEL returned. Also, with the new recall on the 6.2, they could not address that either as it is still showing pending.

Just purchased a 2024 Silverado RST with the 6.2l v8, 17k miles. A few days ago I noticed a stutter while driving, lasted about 10-15 seconds then disappeared. Next day it did the same thing again. Later that night the stutter returned much worse, definitely a missfire, then check engine light started flashing and service stability system light came on. Attempted to pull over and before I could come to a stop the lights went off and the missfire disappeared. Drove it home about 20 miles and it ran fine the whole way. Hooked my reader up and it showed 34 active codes the first being p2255 O2 sensor negative current. Next two codes read manufacturer specific blah blah blah, scrolled to the fourth code and all codes dissapeared from the reader. Re-scanned and no codes (active, stored, or pending). Tried another scan tool and that also read no codes. Driven it the last 2 days to work and back with no issues. Today I had a coworker try his 2 code readers for a sanity check and they also show 0 codes. Being intermittent definitely seems like an electronic issue to me but outside that I’m lost. I talked to the dealership and have an appointment scheduled for next week but without codes I don’t have much faith that they will be able to locate the issue. Any insight is appreciated.
