  1. I crawled under the truck the other day. That hose is the engine oil cooler line. I bought the transmission oil cooler lines thinking it was the issue. I wrapped the engine oil cooler line in fusion tape (at the connections) to prevent any leaking or further issues. I will give the dealership another chance to make it right, though. I appreciate the feedback and sharing your experience. I thought about changing out the engine oil cooler lines myself, but looked like quite the job of trying to route the new lines to get in place.
  2. Well, the transmission pan has not changed for the 6L90 in a lot of years. All they did was remove the dipstick for the post 2019 models trucks and replaced it with a plug. So, adding a factory dipstick in place of the plug has no bearing on a means to check accurate fluid level. PPE using the same plug set up as OEM makes perfect sense. If someone replaces the factory pan with their product, they would still need to ensure the method to check fluid level is adhered to (especially for those who don't have the dipstick). In my case, I installed the dipstick prior to installing the PPE pan. So, I was able to record the level on the dipstick prior to installing the PPE pan. After installing PPE pan, I ensured the requisite amount of fluid was filled to match the recorded dipstick level.
  3. I did reuse the pan gasket. One of the better designed parts by GM. Same style as the rear differential gasket. It is hard to tell if the temp decreased, because where I live the ambient temperature has been in the single digits. But I have noticed a 20 degree decrease in trans operating temperature based on my 45 mile highway commute. When the weather warms up I will have a better idea.
  4. I suppose the level plug in the pan in sufficient. I would rather not get the creeper out and roll under the truck each time to check fluid. I'd rather have the capability in the engine bay when I am checking the other fluid levels/conditions.
  5. Installed the PPE transmission pan today when changing fluid and filter. Pretty nice piece. Although the gasket they supply is laughable compared to the factory gasket. I cleaned and reused the factory gasket. For the cost, supplying the factory gasket (or gasket of similar quality) would be prudent. I did not replace the filter seal, mainly due being uncertain how to effectively get a tool up there without damaging machined surface. If I wasn't laying on my back doing the installation, I may have tackled it. I also purchased their thermal bypass as well and installed it. Pretty straightforward install. I like that is has a magnetic trap that can be periodically removed and cleaned. I also installed the dipstick in the transmission as well. Finally, a suitable setup and am very happy to be able to easily check the fluid level and condition. Vehicle in question: 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 6.6l gas Picture attached to show size difference between factory and aftermarket pan.
  6. Replacing factory Rancho shocks with 5100 series Bilsteins on a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Looking at the mounting hardware, can someone tell me what size the large mounting bolts are (bolt head and nut)? They look over an 1" but I have not crawled underneath the truck to investigage. I want to ensure I have the proper tools before starting the swap.
  7. I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT with the 6.6 gas motor. I am looking to replace the transmission cooler lines. Part description/number:Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Assembly - GM (85584364) Does anyone have any advice or tools I might need that isn't obvious? Any routing issues when trying to install the new lines? Prefer to have all the supplies and tools ahead of time and not get caught short during the replacement process.
  8. Understood. I am probably being too cautious as I don't want to damage the machined surface.
  9. I appreciate the advice, I will look it over tonight.
  10. Purchased a "CPO" 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD recently and am slowly learning the ins and outs of the truck. I found what appears to be a leaking hose covered in dirt/sludge. It is on the passenger side and routes under the radiator. I am assuming this is a transmission cooler hose but am not certain. Picture attached for reference. If it is a transmission cooler hose leaking, is this covered under the GM powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranty? dh
  11. Has anyone used a blind hole bearing remover to remove the filter seal out of a 6L90 transmission? Will be replacing pan, gasket, filter and fluid this weekend and want to ensure I am not fighting with the existing seal. Any suggestions or practical experience would be appreciated.
