Hello. I'm looking for a wiring diagram for a 2009 Silverado LT Extended Cab. The purpose is to properly wire an exterior LED strip to the dome light. This exterior dome light will act as a puddle light when the doors are open.

I am looking for some insight from other people that specialize in wiring and electrical. I own a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Ext. Cab and I have recently installed an overhead console and wired it to a 10 amp circuit in the interior fuse panel using 16ga wire. Doing it this way, the LEDS are very bright, like I want them. Now I want to switch the wiring to the existing wiring from the BCM for OE functionality when I open the door or use the dimmer switch to turn them on. The original wiring is a GRY/BLK 20ga(?) wire that runs up the pillar on the driver side. When I tapped into this wire, the dome lights work like they should, but are very dim. What should I do about this? I have considered running the oe wiring to activate a relay and running the 16ga I have installed through the same relay for power and ground to the dome lights. That way I get the brightness I like, and it retains OE functionality. Is this the way I should go or are there other options?

My first post!! I purchased the OPT7 AURA Pro light kit to install on the floor board in my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. (Hard to believe a $67,000 truck does not have lights there). Does anyone know which wire from the door that tells the dome light to come on when the door opens? Or have the wiring diagram?

Howdy folks, I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 LTZ that has an issue I have never seen. I am at 49,000 miles. This last weekend I drove to the airport and was away for 3 days. When I got back from my trip: I unlocked my truck, and as usual, all the courtesy lights come on. I got in and closed the doors, lights stayed on (specifically, the two dome lights by the sunglasses holder, and the two dome lights above the back seating area). Started it up, lights stayed on. Drove 45 miles home, lights stayed on the entire time. Pushing the buttons on the lights did nothing (could not turn them off manually). Parked in my driveway, turned the truck off, lights stayed on. Eventually they turned off (assumedly thanks to the battery rundown avoidance feature) This morning, got up to go to work and experienced the same thing (steps 1-5 above). I have found a number of forum posts from other forum sites regarding this issue, but they are all for older (pre-2014) trucks, and none of them had a solution anyway. I called my Chevy dealer service department and talked with someone there whom I trust and have been working with for 4 years now - he had no idea. Anyone here have any ideas? Fuses I should try and pull, etc? Thanks in advance.

2014 2500 hd my interior dome lights operate normal with door(s) open, at night or when parking lights / headlights are on if you press the individual dome light buttons the light comes on but is very dim (all 4 act the same). if you turn the control knob for the interior lights all the way to right the lights come on full. If you open the mirror cover on the visor(s) the 2 mirror lights do not come on and the lights on the steering wheel controls, the brake controller, and the panel with the traction control switches go out.. not sure what to check or what to do other than the trip to dealer
