  1. Traded my 2015 Silverado this weekend, have a few items for sale. K&N Drop-in $20 Bed lighting kit, under rails, plugs to factory wiring $20 Window pillar acrylic blackout kit, never installed $20 Prices plus shipping from 70360. I have pictures of everything that I can send.
  2. Hello everyone. I hope I'm in the right place as this is my first post! Today I purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra SLT Premium Plus with the eAssist package, and it arrives next week. I went back and forth between that and the All Terrain and landed on the Premium Plus with eAssist. As soon as I got home this evening I started accessory shopping. As I'm about to purchase a K&N 77 cold air intake, I see that it says for all 5.3L models except the hybrid. From what I understand now (which the sales rep at the dealer didn't inform me of while purchasing), the eAssist package counts as the hybrid. Does anyone know why I can't use a cold air intake with this model?
  3. Morning everyone, I installed a K&N cold air intake on my 2014 Silverado last night (5.3). Sounds great, throttle response has definitely improved. Two issues: My check engine light is now on, and my factory remote start no longer works. Any idea as to what might cause this? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you, TB
  4. Found this install video when searching around for any reviews on the CAI. Maybe helpful for someone. They are claiming ~15hp boost from the CAI, anyone install one yet? https://www.knfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/cars-and-trucks/63-3109-performance-air-intake-system
  5. Thinking about doing an intake, exhaust, and tune to my new-to-me 2017 Sierra 1500 5.3L 8 speed. I miss the throttle response my 2013 6.2L had, it would lurch forward at the slightest tap of the gas. I also want to hear the engine, its so quiet! Cold air intakes seem to be disputed for having any performance gains, so are they really worth the $$$ in terms of better air flow? healthier engine? sound? any words of wisdom? Your $0.02 is always appreciated! I'm looking at the Magnaflow 15267 catback as it seems to sound pretty good for what I'm going for. I've read that there is a flap in the factory exhaust system that creates back pressure for AFM shift into V4 mode. I do like V4 mode and would not want to go away with it. How can a catback system integrate this feature? Also, what would be the rough performance improvements if any from a catback exhaust? Any other options that would sound similar and perform better/keep V4 mode for around the same price as Mgnaflow (~$800)? As for the tune, I know ZERO about tuning but do want to get rid of the rev limiter, speed limiter, get some performance gains without having to put midgrade or premium fuel in. How does the tuning process work? about how much do they cost? how can it be adjusted in the future? I assume anything like this would void some sort of warranty? Anyone do something similar and can attest to their experience with an intake, tune, exhaust?
  6. I have a gently used K&N air intake with the stainless tube for sale in the Cleveland, OH area. It fits the 3.6l Canyon's and Colorados. I only put 6000 miles on the filter before I sold my truck. Definitely improved throttle response and made my Colorado sound mean. Asking $100 and local pickup only.
  7. I have recently installed a K&N 71 series blackhawk intake with an airaid throttle body spacer on my 08 silverado 1500, there are no vacuum leaks and my check engine is on. Could this be from my 02 senor not used to the high flow and not reading right? I also have a magnaflow catback system and was wondering what i should do to fix this problem, ive been told a bung spacer could take the CEL away but wont run optimal and a tune would be the best for my truck so my ecu would recognize all of the new flow going on.
  8. I have a used K&N Cold Air Intake Kit (Part# 63-3082) that I just removed from my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT All Terrain. It has approximately 17k miles on it. It is in perfect condition and all of the parts are there. I will clean the filter with the K&N Air Filter Cleaning solution prior to shipping out. Only reason for removal is I am trading truck in on new Diesel. Any questions please pm me. $200. PLUS Shipping. This is $250. new is the best price I've seen. Thanks Dave
  9. I am purchasing a new K&N cold air intake kit for my truck to primarily try to improve gas mileage (extra power always a plus too). I plan to get the K&N Performance Intake kit with the polyethylene tube shown here: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/k-n-performance-intake-kit-57-3031-1/17401676-P?searchTerm=intake K&N seems pretty reputable. I also read the polyethylene tube is better than a aluminum chrome tube since the aluminum can heat up from the heat of the engine and decrease the performance of the cool air intake. My question is do I need to buy a different air flow sensor for my new intake kit or will the computer in my truck calibrate/account for the new intake? I also plan to clean the air flow sensor with air flow sensor cleaner during the process. Thanks! Any tips on any of these topics appreciated!
  10. I have a K&N 33-2129 replacement air filter 42.50(shipped to lower 48 States) http://www.knfilters.com/search/applications.aspx?prod=33-2129
  11. Hey guys, I threw a K&N cold air kit on my 5.3 today, and holy Moses does it ROAR in the cab when I get on the accelerator. I've never had one this noisy before. I also have a Flo Pro muffler, still too cheap for cat back exhaust. It doesn't really bother me that much, but it seems abnormally loud. Maybe it's just because the truck was so quiet before. I checked everything after taking it for a test drive and it was all still connected firmly. It's probably normal, but I figured I'd see what others have experienced.
