Hello I am not sure if this been talked about before. Anyways, I noticed a noise coming form the dashboard -i think-. This happen only if I go over light bumps and specially if its on a ramp so while truck is flexing ex: going in/out the gas station that had a bit of a ramp on the entrance. The noise sounds like a loose bolt or clips. It is not loud but always there and driving me insane. Any one experienced something of this sort and know what it going on. Please enlighting me. Thank you!

My 2015 Silverado LTZ 4WD is making a popping sound (from the rear end) on slow turns and when driving slowly on uneven surfaces. It didn't do it the first three months I had it but has been doing it all summer. Been to the dealership three times and they said they're going to order new leaf springs for it when I bring it in for the first oil change. Anyone else having this problem?

Ever since my last oil change and recall service to the brake pad sensors, I have been hearing a frequent double popping noise on the right side of my truck, seemingly favoring the front wheel area. This noise is impossible to forcibly repeat, however, like clockwork it always occurs twice (two double pops) on my way to and from work (and yes, the road is absolutely smooth, no bumps or pot holes to cause this). This typically occurs at around 60mpg and every 5-10 miles. Everyone I have talked to including the service department at my local GM have no clue what is going on. The truck will be going into the shop soon for troubleshooting. Any ideas what might be going on? Anyone with a similar issue?

I have roughly 56k miles on my truck...don't use 4wd very often, but occasionally... I have noticed i have a clicking sound when turning at slow speeds...I haven't been able to climb underneath my truck yet (not even sure I would be able to tell unless something was blatantly obvious). I did a search and found some threads about steering column causing a click...it isn't my steering wheel... if it is a CV issues, are these under the power train warranty or am I SOL? Any advise appreciated!

I just got a new to me 2011 2500HD duramax with 99k miles on it. Just here recently every time I put the truck in park and it rolls until the transmission catches I hear a pretty loud popping sound from somewhere under the dash in the floor of the drivers seat. Everything works fine as far as I can tell, and I’m fairly certain it’s inside the truck. I can feel it in the brake pedal and sometimes I think I can in the steering wheel. It doesn’t do it in a turn or anytime the truck is moving in drive or reverse. Only does it when put in park and let go of the brake. I have no clue what it is. Thanks!

I have a sound coming from the front end of my 2005 Silverado 4x4 that happens only after it has been driven 10-15 Miles (Hot) and sounds like a rotational crunching sound (some could call a clicking or maybe popping) It seems to only happen while I am at Low speeds coming to a stop only. I don’t seem to hear anything abnormal while accelerating or cruising and when I begin to brake there’s no issue (brakes feel/work great) but only when I get down to around 10 miles an hour (crunching 2-3 times per tire rotation) It’s really hard to pinpoint what side of the truck but it sounds to be about the same from both sides. I have done a bunch of work including replacing front CV axle’s, front brakes, front differential service, transfer case service, lubed rear slip yoke, inspected/tested actuator for front differential engagement, and spent hours attempting to diagnose and inspect the entire Front end and drivetrain. The crazy thing is I got the Sound to go away completely after The night I had replaced the front CV axle’s, and brake pads and then put about 300-400 miles on it (took camping loaded up and drive and brakes worked fantastic) and now the sound has come back!?... I really am getting very confused and discouraged on where to go next? I guess I was thinking of getting it to act up and then removing the front driveshaft to see if the sound continues and I guess that would help determine if its a possible driveshaft or u-joint issue or maybe front differential or transfer case issue? Sorry for the long post I just want to put as much info as I can and THANK YOU ?? in advance for any help I can get I really appreciate it! I have good videos of the issue but the files are too large to upload on this post but I could email them to somebody if they’re willing to watch? THANK YOU!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I have an 05 Silverado Crew Cab 4WD 5.3L engine. I have an extremely loud popping/snapping noise coming from my front drivers side axle when I drive at low speeds in the driveway. I've been scared to drive it at higher speeds so I'm not sure what it does when traveling faster. The popping noise seems to happen once every revolution of the wheel. If I go slow, I can feel when it starts to bind and I’ll put it in reverse and it will travel backward a little bit and I can feel it start to bind again. If I give it gas it will travel to the point when it binds and that will be followed by an extremely loud and violent popping noise when it lets loose. I put it up on jacks and the driver’s side will only rotate a small amount and then binds up. The passenger side rotates freely and feels normal. Under the truck I can rotate the front driveshaft freely. I drained the front diff fluid and it looked pretty good with no visible metal shavings. Has anyone had a similar problem and what was the cause? Thanks!!!
