  1. I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2L with the 8 speed transmission (73,000 miles). When shifting from park to drive/reverse there is a clunk and also when the truck is accelerating from low RPMs there’s a hard shift from 1-2 & 2-3 gear. I’ve taken it to the dealer multiple times and they “can’t find an issue” with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! IMG_6286.MOV
  2. Hello I am not sure if this been talked about before. Anyways, I noticed a noise coming form the dashboard -i think-. This happen only if I go over light bumps and specially if its on a ramp so while truck is flexing ex: going in/out the gas station that had a bit of a ramp on the entrance. The noise sounds like a loose bolt or clips. It is not loud but always there and driving me insane. Any one experienced something of this sort and know what it going on. Please enlighting me. Thank you!
  3. I drive a 2014 gmc sierra crew cab. bought it with a clunk in the rear and have since then replaced the leaf spring hangers (because one snapped in half), and the shackles. i have also greased the leaf springs with suspention grease, along with everything else that could be greased. Tried cleaning them numerious times. have also retourqued everything along with u-bolts. But still no joy. Never trully thought it was the leaf springs becasue of how it feels and sounds. you can really hear it when driving over cracks, bumps, newly patched road. almost like when my rear end drops back down, something in the suspention is loose or worn and clunks due to it dropping faster than the worn part so a clunk occurs. hard to explain but i have been told to replace the shocks. i truly dont think it's the springs but if anyone had any ideas i would help out greatly, thanks.

  6. So i was trying to take my boys out camping and while driving my truck died like the alternator had quit and I ran the battery down. Got off the road, no problem, long story short, replaced the alternator and there was a clunk/scrape sound when starting it up. Didn't like the noise so I had it towed home. The sound seems to be localized in the bell housing so I took off the inspection cover and thought I would find a cracked flexplate. I can't see any obvious cracks in the flexplate, disconnected it from the torque converter, noise is still there, the flexplate appears to wobble when running, not sure where to go from here... I have attached a couple videos of it running so you can see and hear the noise. Any input would be very appreciated. I can do the flexplate but if it's lower end issues I don't have the time and garage space to tear into it as I am PCS across the country soon. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Two links to my videos of the flexplate running
  7. My 2004 Silverado 4wd truck has some loud clunking and grinding coming from the front-end driver side at all speeds. It almost sounds like driving and hitting many bumps/cracks in the pavement along with a loud intermittent grinding. This noise seems to lessen quite a bit if I put the vehicle in 4wd, seems worse in 2wd. Would this be a wheel bearing, front universal joint, or front axle bearing? Anyone else have this problem and find the cause? Right now I drive the truck 50 miles to work and worried it might not make it home without a wheel falling off the way it sounds. I have an appointment with the garage tomorrow, so any idea beforehand what it could be would help me decide whether their fix has any added, not needed, expenses. Thanks,
  8. I have a 97 Chevy Suburban The first problem that started is you would be driving it down the road and it sounded like the engine and everything would cut out, but only for a split second and then come right back on.Now it has recently started making a big clunk sound when driving down the highway. It doesn't do it when you are accelerating or decelerating it will just come out of nowhere when you are going down the highway. But it also doesn't do it all the time either. and it never does it on regular roads at lower speeds I was told that it may be the transmission, but I'm not sure if I believe that because it doesn't do it when the truck is shifting gears. We have had transmission problems in the past in this same vehicle a few years back, and we took it to get it fixed at a transmission shop (tranny is the one thing my hubby doesn't know much about when it comes to fixing them). about a year after that it started to go bad again, since we had a warranty on the tranny we took it back to the same place and the mechanic said that our transfer case was causing the transmission problems so he removed our transfer case and fixed it again. that was about 2-3 years ago. I already have over 1500 in the transmission, and before that we replaced the motor. this truck has had alot of work and I'd love to keep her but we can't figure out this problem... If anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated, We need to get her fixed, as I would hate to see her go. And with this mechanical issue I know we wont get near what we have in her if we sell it.
