The past couple times I opened and closed my sun roof on my 2014 Silverado a black rubber bellows like gasket about 1 foot long on the right side came out of its track and jammed it up preventing it from closing. I slipped it back in the first time but now it tore itself apart and I had to pull it out in order to close the sunroof. I'm assuming both sides are rotten at this point and need replacement. Seems like a very short life cycle to me seeing as I bought this new just a little over two years ago. I did get a full warranty so we'll see just what that was worth... This appears to need to slide during normal operation. Might some silicone be necessary? What is it's purpose? Rain/noise or both? Is it even necessary?

The rattle we had was coming from headliner behind the passenger seat, and was typically worse at medium to highway speeds. It is noticeably louder with the sunroof cover slid back(open). My fix: Open rear passenger door and stand on running board to access the roof rack. If you wiggle the crossbar of the rack it has the slightest of slack, but just enough to make a clanking sound. I wedged some thin flexible magnet pieces(no the rack isn't magnetic, just what I had handy) in between the crossbar and the roof brace in front of and back of the bar(see pic). Viola...no noise. If these come loose I will come up with something more robust(maybe some two part epoxy). I'm not familiar with the inside of the 2015-2019 Suburban, Tahoe, and regular Yukon's, but the ultra quiet cabin of the Denali amplifies ANY little rattle or strange noise. I was used to the road noise and rattles of my 2007 Suburban(288K). They went kind of hand in hand. This one will take some getting used to. I know, suck it up buttercup. Now...back to the "other" issue... front end clank, clank, clank-clank after medium to hard braking, but occasionally during acceleration, and less occasionally steady speeds. No specific rhythm, almost like it's swinging in the wind, and then it suddenly stops after a few seconds. Please help if you know anything! I WILL fix this too! There is a video from another in a different thread on here that has the EXACT same issue/sound as mine.

Hello. I was going down the road yesterday and the sunroof spontaneously and autonomously opened. I immediately tried to close it, but it wouldn't for several minutes. Finally, it closed. A few more times during the day, every time I started the truck, the sunroof reopened and again took several minutes before it would close. When I got home, I figured out which fuse controlled the sunroof and removed it to keep this from happening. The last thing I need is for it to open when it's pouring rain out, and with my luck it wouldn't close again at all. So, does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Hey guys I am having some problems with my truck and would like to see what you think. The truck is a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. It is currently at the dealership for repair. I took the truck in for a sunroof leak on August 9. They diagnosed it as a bad seal and ordered a seal and new head liner, but had me drive it home. The leak was causing electrical problems so I parked the truck in my garage and carpooled to work. The parts arrived at the dealership and I brought the truck in on the 15th. They tell it will be done Tuesday at the latest, which is the next day. Wednesday comes and I haven't heard from them so I call. They won't answer my questions at first then tell me it'll be done the next day. Well come to find out on the 18th they misdiagnosed and it needs a whole new sunroof assembly. Guess what? GM doesn't have one in stock and will let me know by close of business the next day when they can get one. That doesn't happen either. So today, August 22, they call me at 1130 to say it won't be in stock until September 8. So at this point I am pretty annoyed of driving 6-cylinder work truck when I bought a brand new Denali. My truck spent 28 days last year in the shop for transmission problems and another week for the steering wheel heater going on the fritz and making it almost untouchable. The rep and I decide that the buyback program is reasonable next step since my truck is breaking so often. She calls and the DMA denies the claim. My response at 1230 is fine the truck will meet the Arizona lemon law requirements when the part arrives. Magically at 1300 the dealership service manager deems that a different part will work. I think it is convenient timing that when they cannot get the correct part for weeks and have no other option the word lemon comes out they find something else that works. What do you guys think? My truck will be down for at least 3.5 weeks before they can install this substitute part. Putting it out of service for almost 9 weeks in 20 months of ownership. Not to mention they have not fixed my seat issues. Should I seek legal counsel? Am I out of line? Cooperate GM just tells me to talk to the dealerships customer service rep, who just happens to be the service manager calling the shots for my repairs. Thanks, -Joe H.

Thought I would share my story of the fun I have had ordering my new GMC. I have convinced myselft to go with the 6.2L since I like how it drives more than the 5.3L and I dont buy a truck for gas milage. I started this process about 2 months ago and was told the 6.2L is on constraint as were the 22" wheels I wanted. The sunroof and rear sliding window were also on constraint if I wanted to do something other than the Denali. Four weeks ago my dealer tried to place an order on a Denali for me. It didnt "take". I contacted another local dealer this past friday who said they were able to order me either a Denali or all terrain with the 6.2L because they apparently were allotted more. The following morning the first dealer told me the order they placed a month ago "took" but minus the sunroof and the 22" factory wheels I wanted and there is no way to change the order. So...apparently I am getting almost what I wanted minus the 22" wheels which shopchevyparts.com tells me it is on a "red list". I guess the benefit is that if the rebates dont stay attractive when (if) the truck arrives, I will walk away given the fact it is not what I ordered. Anyone else having this much fun trying to spend $50k+ on a truck?

Ok folks, appears I am one of the first (or first?) to receive the Denali version of the sierra (at least on this forum). I placed order 9/28, accepted by GM on 10/1 received 11/6. Was told 8-12 weeks expedited delivery, dealer ship was as surprised as I was. Enough of the chit chat, here is the details and pictures which is all that matters right. The Truck Model : 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Color: Iridium Metallic Engine: 6.2L Options : Z71 , Sunroof, Integrated Brake Controller, 6" Step bars I would be really interested if anybody else received theirs (of course limited to this forum users). The interior with the Denali only digital dash feature is sweet. (edited > attached additional interior pictures )
