  1. 2013 Silverado LT Ext Cab z71 Kind of a long story but here goes. Thanks ahead of time. Got rear ended in Dec. I decided to get an aftermarket bumper instead of replacing with stock (going for the blackout look vs chrome.) Insurance and body shop said there was no problems with that. Body Shop When I went to pick the truck up I noticed that the parking assist sensors were not in the same order as they were before. Originally the chrome sensors were on the outside and the black sensors were on the inside. Now I had a chrome and a black on the outsides, and a chrome and a black on the inside. The technician said that wouldn't cause a problem. I took his word for it and took my truck home. When I backed up into my driveway, the parking assist went crazy. Signalling that I was inches away from hitting something, even though nothing was there. The system eventually shut itself off and wouldn't turn back on. I took the truck back to the shop and had the adjuster there. I let them know that the parking assist wasn't working. They took the truck back to look it over. The owner said that he personally checked to make sure everything worked before I received it. I informed him that not only did the parking assist not work, but the reverse camera, license plate lights, and trailer plug were left unhooked. He refused to do any more repairs and told me and the adjuster that I should take it to the dealership. His reason for not fixing anything was that I chose an aftermarket bumper instead of stock. I again pointed out that the sensors were in a different order and he said that didn't matter. Dealership One service center tells me that all sensors should be replaced after serious impact to the bumper, regardless if they were directly damaged. They can't get me in for 3 more weeks so I take it to another dealership. New dealership claims that the sensors are in different positions now due to the aftermarket bumper. Say that the sensors are reading the trailer hitch as another object and warning me about that. They say they can't do anything since it's aftermarket and to take it to a specialty shop. Specialty Shop Called one shop and the guy says that the problem is almost definitely a result of the sensors not being placed in the correct order(inside vs outside) Adjuster calls the original body shop to tell them and they now admit that this could be the problem and that they put them back in wrong. My Question Any idea which of the reasons given to me could be the real problem? Is there any way to fix this?

  3. I just called. They said that the connected access plan is free and that basically just gives you a monthly diagnostic report and a few other minor things. Remote access plan is 14.99 to include keyfob and location services.
  4. I'm having this problem too. I bought a 2011 Silvy in late 2016 and got a 5 year trial with the diag reports and the keyfob app for my phone. Wrecked that truck and bought a 2013 in late 2018. They wouldn't hook anything up without taking a credit card number. The same diag report and keyfob app now costs $15 per month. Too much just to use the keyfob app a few times a month and glance at a diag report. Does anyone know if there's any other way to work the keyfob through a phone? Don't even need the remote start, just lock/unlock. Thanks.
  5. I have a 2013 Silvy and was wondering if there was any way to work the keyfob through my android phone. When I had my 2011 (RIP), I could do it with an app through the free version of OnStar. Now they say that I have to pay $15 a month for the package to do that. That is a little too much considering that is the only service that I care about. Just wondering if there was a cheaper option.
  6. I bought a 2013 Silverado last month that has an OEM remote start. When I use it to start the truck it doesnt activate the air/heat or the radio. I thought these things were supposed to turn on too. I'd like to be able defrost the windows a little before I get in. Also the aftermarket radio takes some time to boot up so if I need to use the reverse camera, I have to wait a min or two. Not a major issue but more something I'm curious about. Thanks for any help ahead of time.
  7. The tint is very dark on the back glass. It would be hard for the camera to see anything through it. That's the main reason I started looking into cameras in the first place. I can barely see out of it, especially when it's dark.
  8. That was my first thought about it. But I have no experience with that. No idea where to start.
  9. That one fits 2014-17. I have the 2013. It's one of the few that I could find.
  10. I also looked for plans that I could make with a 3d printer. I have a few friends who have them. No luck but I don't really know how to look for those either.
  11. Here's a link to what I have managed to find. These tie into the factory receivers for the 14 and newer models. I'm looking for something to tie into a Pioneer receiver. I have 2 inputs for cameras available. Just needs a yellow RCA wire. https://camera-source.com/automotive-cams/gm-oe-fit/gm-3rd-brake-light-camera-for-trucks-w-io4-i05-or-io6-display-factory-camera.html
  12. I just ran into the same problem a couple weeks ago. I looked at a 2013 Ext cab that had lived up north it's whole life. The rust on this one was much worst than what you had pictured. It was over 100,000 miles too. Everything else looked great. Ended up walking away from it and bought another truck that was a few thousand more but very similar. I don't trust a lot of rust, once it's there, it will keep spreading. I showed the pictures to a couple mechanic friends and they told me to avoid anything that rusty. The dealership even dropped the price several thousand dollars once I pointed it out to them. I'm in southeast Texas so I've never had to deal with salted roads here.
  13. I wanted to add a camera that looks down into the bed of my truck. I have found a few bezels that have a camera but they all fit 2014 and up. Anyone know where I could find anything that would work for me? 2013 Silverado Ext Cab LT Thanks in advance
