2015 YUKON NOISE IN CABIN
NORCAL SS replied to FOURKNUCKLES's topic in 2015-2020 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon & Escalade
So you know the trailblazer ss airbags fit inside the rear 15 up gm suvs and even those make the back of the truck ride better. I have tested the tbss bags replacing the oem springs in a 15 and set at oe height it would still shake and once lowered down the airbag the shake is gone 3 inch drop. Once again proving that pinion angle change and vehicle height is the issue -

you have a liner spring stock. gm didnt make a progressive rate. its not only changing the springs its also the fact that yoru changing the pinion angle as well as how the truck pushes air. for the guys that are keeping stock height your stuck. GM wont fix your trucks and the way the truck was built and being up so high is a issue. my local dealership had 1 of my customers in for weeks at a time. vibrating and ear issues. Did my lowering kit on it (1.5/3 drop which isnt much) and he had no more issues with his. the dealership knows me because of my cars and called me and was like tony what did you do? unfortunitly lowering wont be for everyone. I understand that but i pretty much have more feedback to fix the problem then all these people bringing their trucks to gm for what over a year now. -

Sorry to hear that. I also level just the rear to front and customers have no issues. This community is fighting to get results and overall gm messed up. Unfortunately lowering the truck is the fix I'm seeing and the people who want to keep the trucks up high..... there's no fix. I'll keep posting my customers trucks that I do and give results.... so hopefully gm can "get a clue" linear springs are hurting this truck. Leveled rear to front guys like also -

I use drop spindles nothing changed in front on springs or shocks. Rear oem shocks with shock extenders and just change to progressive lowering spring -

Pinion angle change along with spring change to progressive and overall height of the truck coming down is the combination which helps. On top of that truck hanukes much better -

Lowered another yukon. Just like others I've done vibrating issues customer stated are gone. Like I told my service rep here the truck stock design is causing issues. Once lowered the problems are pretty much gone in this case. Ive lowered over 60 new gm suvs with great results -

just like the other 07-14 with autoride if you go onto tahoeyukonforum people running my custom kits agree rides better then oem. I will keep everyone updated as I go on and do more trucks. POTHOLES like crazy in san francisco I have no issues driving mine on 26s. If you want a tire with more sidewall you can do a 24x10 with 30mm offset and a 305 35 24. -

not true. Many of my 15 up customers go with my 2/3-4 drop kit and no issues going from northern california ie bay area to lake tahoe which is 220 miles. Snow up there has not been a issue also. I also am doing the road racing event for the good guys coming up in my escalade. Thing corners like on rails now. OH also the 26 inch rims/tires are lighter than stock 26s 88.6 pounds here is the oem 22s with tires 90.6 pounds 5 user(s) are reading this topic here is the 2/3-4 kit which has more than enough level for snow. best of all handles and rides better then stock. GM needs to address the height issue.. but by doing that lots of people will have trucks that will need to be at least 1.5 inches lower in front and 3 in rear -

no they do not the vibration is almost gone. One even went to the dealer and they confirmed it with the tool they put inside the truck and stewart chevrolet sent this into gm since gm wanted to see readings. The rear of these trucks sit much higher then previous generations. Also gm lengthened the rear lower control arms so there are difference. I lowered a lot of these trucks current and previous generation. Some customers say they have no vibration while others notice it and after lowering they said the noise pressure is gone while the vibration is barly noticeable its actually pretty drastic. My truck is slammed to the fullest and I have NO vibration at all. The trucks where they siad its almost gone are only at the 4.5 option of my drop kit so me being 1.5 lower just tells me its a airflow turbulence issue. The truck handle SO MUCH better also when lowered its just a win situation. Mine is a 3/6 drop also on my truck i did front/rear swaybars along with shorter endlinks both front and rear MAJORRRR difference. Now we know gm wont lower these rigs but so far ALL THE THINGS THEY HAVE TRIED failed and I feel the design these trucks have is the killer. Well at least those customers that lower them will be happy stock front links vs the new ones i install in customers trucks. Swaybar angle fixed and better cornering since bar is no parallel with ground rear helper bags on these trucks!! tows much better heres one i did oh yah rear swaybar upgrade/endlinks and greaseable bushings stock bar left vs bigger bar right -

lowered a few of these rigs so far including my 2016 escalade. my customers said it help a lot with vibration. I have a feeling the stock stance of these suvs causes air turbulance around vehicles at stock ride height which is amplified inside. my escalade WWW.ESKYOWNERS.COM -

good read The Active Noise Cancellation system is operational under the following conditions: The amplifier has passed all self-diagnostic checks All doors are closed Battery voltage is between 9.5 V and 16 V The vehicle cabin temperature is less than 140°F (60°C) Engine speed is between 550 and 3000 RPM ANC system Diagnostic Tips: Inspect for any aftermarket audio components. If the audio system has been altered this will cause increased exhaust drone. inspect for anything inside the truck that may be blocking the speakersand/or microphones. Inspect for any DTC’s example: B0560, B1277, B127C, B127D, door ajar issues/DTC’s, etc. Disable the ANC system by removing the AMP fuse. If the exhaust drone noise improves there may be an issue with the ANC system. Some examples of system issues have been: faulty speaker or subwoofer, speaker or subwoofer improperly wired (-/+ wires backward), speaker orsubwoofer inoperative, etc. The Audio System Diagnostic CD EL-50334-6 contains audio tracks that can be used to test the speakers. B. Inspect the exhaust system components for the following: Loose and/or missing fasteners Heat Shields Joints and/or couplings: Nuts, bolts, studs, clamps, straps Bracket and/or insulator mounting Inadequate clearance to body and/or chassis components Inspect with the exhaust system both COLD and HOT; in NEUTRAL, FORWARD and REVERSE gears Improper alignment Disconnected and/or missing insulators Cracked, dry-rotted, and/or oil-soaked insulators Stretched, twisted, broken, torn, and/or collapsed insulators Bent, twisted, cracked, and/or deformed brackets Repair and/or replace exhaust system components as indicated by the inspection. C. Incorrectly seated and/or aligned powertrain components and/or exhaust systemcomponents may create a transfer path into the passenger compartment. Perform the following procedure to re-bed the powertrain/exhaust: Loosen, but do not remove, all powertrain mounts and exhaust system hangers Ensure that the exhaust flexible coupling, if equipped, moves freely. Start the engine. Settle the powertrain by shifting the transmission from DRIVE to REVERSE. Place the transmission into NEUTRAL Turn OFF the ignition Tighten all of the loosened fasteners with the powertrain in a relaxed position. D. If after performing the above suggestions and the concern has not been resolved, as a test, swap the exhaust muffler and tail pipe assembly from a known good truck. If this corrects the concern, order and replace the exhaust muffler and tail pipeassembly. If the concern is still excessive after performing the above suggestions and the vehicle is equipped with a 5.3L engine, engineering is aware of the issue and working on improvements to the exhaust system -

bought a new escalade yesterday and didnt hear anything on my test drive and 400 miles back home nothing really. Then today it started i hear it and pressure in my ear. Taking it to dealer monday. Does anyone have the actual tsb to this??? or the different tsbs??? I think one said ring and pinion to change out right?? if so im going to ask the gears be changed to 3.42s because i have the big whipple 2.9/meth/headers on their way and want to get it into this truck -
i have all that since you have 115k on the truck here is what id do 1) belltech front drop struts which will put you at 34.5 2) belltech rear shocks 3) djm 4-5 inch flip kit (put you at 35.5 at 4 inch level or 34.5 at 5 inch level) 4) djm rear bar by far best way to go out of all the trucks i do using belltech/hellwig etc. brackets are also much beefier.

ok heres the issue with the trucks different ones used different front springs. Some of the trucks 07 up ive seen sit 3/4 inch higher than others due to the springs they used at the plant. Heres what i do on all the kits i install before anything 1) measure from ground to fenderlip in rear 2) make sure you still have the lifting block in rear still in Tell me that and I can dial in the exact kit you should go with. For 2 inches in front id roll the belltech spindles Here is my new escalade 2.75 drop front (spindles and my custom strut mod) and rear cromoly control arms and beltech kit with djm swaybar no issues at all
