  1. Prepped for the blizzard warning. Tonight should be fun on the dock. 12 inches of snow blowing across polished concrete on a 7 thousand pound forklift with slicks on it and spears sticking out on the front. Let the games begin!
  2. Swapped out the wheels and tires & fired up the snow blower. Snow on the way.
  3. It does show about everything that you can think of. I can't wait to check out the performance monitor stuff and customize the x gauge. Right now I'm on ignition timing horsepower boost and instant MPG,(4 gauges at a time)
  4. Plugged in scan gaugeII birthday present. Pretty cool.
  5. I got pulled over last week after lighting 'em up for my neighbor, with a cop in the parking lot across the street. Nice guy, asked "What was that all about?" and I told him. He ran me, came back and said "It's tough with a vehicle like this to find the right place to let loose, I have the same problem with my mustang and Harley. Try to make good decisions as to the time and the place, and I'll do the same." With that he handed back my info. I told him to have a Merry Christmas and he wished me the same, and then added "oh yeah, and I see that your birthday is next week, happy birthday."- He is on my telepathic Christmas card list.
  6. I wonder(bread) how many times that phrase was used at Hostess. It got me in the seat of this truck. It may not seem like they notice, but they notice. I started at my gig four years ago, and have gotten two promotions and eight raises. I turned down a supervisor's job about a year ago because I make more money hourly and can work a few extra hours if I need some extra cash. I'm not white collar anymore, gave the neck noose up many years ago. I'm a consumer commodity allocation and disburment specialist. Yep, a dockworker. It's also a matter of pride. I lose plenty of sleep working nights, but I don't lose a drop feeling guilty about half a$$ing my way through a shift. It may sound like a dodge or Chevy commercial, but busting our a$$es and taking pride in what we do is what built this great nation, slowing down to the minimum required is what's helping the rest of 'em catch us. Not on my watch. Wow. Sorry about that. My soapbox is a bit taller after witnessing twelve hours of this philosophical struggle.
  7. Chris, is there a portion of your headlights that is actually painted or is that a hip term an old bastard like me wouldn't understand? I knew about the markers, that's why I thought maybe the heads were next. The only bright color on your truck would be the new emblems. I'd like to clear mine and powdercoat tha back bumper... You guys say what you want about Mike, but from what I know about him(and his aim) he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met, even if I don't know anything about him and we've never met.
  8. How about in the front of the pic Sarah? Don't tell me that with all of the work you do on your truck that you did this mod with a butter knife...
  9. You have more courage than I do Sarah. I love the look, on your truck and those like mine, but I know I'll end up screwing it up and have foggy headlights...
  10. Chris, the badges look great. The mpg is about what I got with my '07 and about 3 better mpg than my '02. Have you thought about clearing your headlights? You already have the markers in place. In your new pic it would make that VORTECMAX pop even more. Did you click "buy now" on those wheels? Nice. Mike, maybe with pics of you new gun, your fellow "duners" will quit giving you a hard time about some past incident involving you, your truck and some sand...?
  11. Had an '07- engine was awesome. Didn't have the six speed but had 4.10's and pulled pretty well.
  12. I thought that the VortecMAX was the engine and tha that the gears, brakes, etc. were the NHT option code. Couldn't you at one point get the Vmax engine with the Z71 suspension?
  13. Let's hear it Mike, I love the sound of power.
  14. Lottery didn't work out, Tried the burger thing but the fast food joints are all still on the breakfast menus for a couple of hours. Danny, are the six stools the number in the diner or the number you get from eating off of a fifty year old grill?
  15. I guess it was worth a shot. Good luck finding a good service dept. If you do I'm sure that they'll take good care of your truck.
  16. I'm probably the last person in the world you should take medical or legal advice from. But since you asked- eat two cheeseburgers before bed and rob a gas station in the morning. Not sure I could handle two cheesburgers at about eleven AM, but I'll give it a shot Doc. As for the gas station, I'm hoping to be worth about a half a billion dollars (before taxes, of course) in a little over an hour, so I may skip this one. If I don't win, should I take the fifty bucks from the register or the eighty bucks worth of premium from the pump?
  17. I haven't. If I ever need a doctor or a lawyer I'm calling you. After all, you did...oh nevermind.
  18. Raced Guy said "Does anyone else with the 6.2 get piston slap. Mine has 28k on it now and its below 30 here and even if I let it warm up for a minute or two it sounds terrible. It remimds me of my old mans 2000 5.3 wirh 315k. I've noticed this summer it sounds like its developed lifter noise on the left side." Have you checked your exhaust manifold bolts on the driver's side? Had the slap in my '02 2500HD, never caused a problem. Thought I had it in my '07 vmax, turned out to be a broken manifold bolt, driver's side rear. My exhaust guy told me it was common. I've heard two reasonings. He had heard that it was the iron manifold and aluminum head heating up at different rates, someone else told me it was from torque twist and short exhaust hangers. Either way it couldn't hurt to check.
  19. Mike, if the boss(or wife) asks you today if you got a particular task completed, just look them dead in the eye and say "No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night"... Yeah, I know, but I'm tired and I entertain easily.
  20. Nice. That's my favorite price. Chris, congrats on the 6.0, I loved my '07 vmax. Don't eat that whole burrito, you may blow a different gasket...
  21. You know her better than I do Mike but from what I've read and gathered about Sarah I'd worry more about the other guy. You've never been to Saginaw I see Not recently, but a bit of quick research gives me the impression that it isn't where I'll plan my next family vacation. Can't run ethanol, full boost will have to get me through the city. Sarah can just use the new light bar to clear a path.
  22. You know her better than I do Mike but from what I've read and gathered about Sarah I'd worry more about the other guy.
  23. Cleaned up the engine compartment while it was nice out. Temps are supposed to nose dive tonight into next week. Another winter on the dock, hooray!
  24. Frogfish- it's a TVS1900
  25. Well in your opinion is getting a supercharger worth it? Wait I think I already know the answer to that one... It's well worth it, but fuzzy dice would be better...
