  1. Please, please try what I've suggested. You seem very capable and I would like to know I'm not completely crazy
  2. Update: ***Pressure sensation is practically GONE!!!*** OK, hear me out. I've been determined to crack this thing... I did what I mention in my last couple posts about pulling the amp fuse (Fuse 48 on the front passenger fuse box), driving the truck for about 15mins, re-installing the fuse and riding w/ the windows down/open sunroof for another 15mins -- all in hopes of "resetting the atmosphere" inside the cabin of the Yukon. It has been about a week since I've taken our Denali for a ride (wife drives it all week, no time for me to experiment). I finally was able to take the truck out for some Christmas shopping -- all the while, focusing on if I had the pressure in my ears that I was experiencing. I sh*t you not, it was NOTHING like what I was feeling before... I'm still noticing a little hint of rumble in my ears, but the pressure is practically gone! I no longer feel the sense of something not being right inside the cabin. It's actually comfortable and enjoyable to ride in. I'm actually loving the thing - when before, it was pissing me off w/ the uncomfortable pressure. I would really like to have anyone who is having the "pressure" sensation in their Yukon to try the steps I've mentioned! It could really help, especially if it's the Bose noise canceling system creating the pressure like I was guessing... (??) I realize it seems crazy, as doing those steps really shouldn't change much (to my basic knowledge), but I do know the truck has completely changed the way it feels while riding. I just need someone else to do the same
  3. Ours' would last hours after riding. Initially, our SLT gave me spells all night at 1st, but then it lessen after the truck had more miles put on it. Our current Denali has the pressure, but not the headache, dizzy kind of symptoms.
  4. Andymac, you're right on par with how our SLT was! You may also be right about the cabin being so tight, that it isn't letting any pressure escape. Maybe the cabin vents are too small or maybe not venting at all? Anyone know where these vents are?? Just throwing around ideas. This isn't the noise canceling( or is it?), a detached roof, unbalanced tires, defective shocks or driveshafts.. What the heck could cause this ridiculous issue??!?
  5. I tested the theory - I pulled the "AMP" fuse out of our Denali, which made the radio and center screen completely stay off. No radio or anything worked-- but it seem to have made the sensation WORSE...??? I drove to the store with the pressure and decided to re-install the fuse for the ride back home.. During that ride, I rolled down the windows, opened up the sunroof to see if it would "reset" the sound in the cabin.. THAT seem to have done something as later on that night, I took the car back out and didn't feel the pressure as bad or if at all... As I was riding w/ the AMP fused pulled, I did noticed that our Denali is actually extremely quiet. This makes me wonder if the noise everyone is hearing is from the dang sound system. The pressure, I really have no clue where it's coming from, but the buffeting could very well be coming from the sound system. All speculations, really
  6. They're heading the in the right direction on the "Enhanced Sound" thread
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most all of GM's vehicles (w/ V8 to V4) are using noise cancellation to some degree...? If that is true, some people are more sensitive to the pressure in their ears that it's giving them headaches, but then most people aren't having any issues at all. It could be just the fact that their ears are sensitive enough to hear the pressure created by the NC freq...? The 15' SLT we first picked up made so much noise going over dumps/rough roads it literally roared inside the cabin. I personally think the NC system was over compensating, thus creating pressure in both our ears. Now, my wife says she doesn't feel the pressure at all as the Denali is much more quiet when hitting rough roads. I, on the other hand, can still feel pressure in my ears to a degree. It isn't creating headaches like the SLT did, but I still get some popping from the pressure. So... The question is - Has GM even considered the NC system? They've tried to fix the roof - Nothing. They've balanced and replaced wheels/tires - Nothing. They've replaced shocks and driveshafts - Nothing. All of this is to try to quiet the interior cabin... Right? These damn Yukons are so loud inside, SOMETHING is trying to quiet them down, and that something is also giving some people headaches! What is the system designed to trick our ears? The NC system... not a rumbling roof! I'm almost to the point that I'm going to pull some fuses and take the truck for a spin. Reference to "buffering" in the new '14 Sierra about a year BEFORE the issue arose in the Yukon -- http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153468-buffering-sound-inside-of-truck/
  8. Update on my situation w/ 2 New Yukons: I was hoping to get away from this thread when we traded in our '15 SLT for a '15 Denali due to the SLT giving us headaches! Well, the Denali is no where near as bad on the buffeting/drumming noise, but the pressure in my ears is still there! My wife isn't complaining while riding in the Denali as she did in the SLT, but for whatever reason, she's getting random dizziness spells a couple times a week while at work and home! As of yesterday, she accidentally merged into the other lane and scuffed into a public transit van and put a nice little scratch on the rear quarter panel of the Denali. She keeps telling me she doesn't remember merging into the other lane... Now granted, this could have been that she was using her phone, or whatever, but she's having trouble actually recalling what happen -- It's concerning to say the least.. But here is my theory -- As "carz24" was most recently referring to, I too believe it's the Active Noise Canceling/Sound system in the trucks that is producing the pressure in our ears. Once the road noise/cabin noise gets up to a certain speed or noise level, the sound system itself is compensating for the noise and trying to drown it out. I'm by no means a "sound professional", but I have couple other experiences w/ noise canceling in some other devices... Hear me out here (no pun) -- I assume my ears must be sensitive because my cell phone (which uses noise cancellation for the background noise) seems to effect (pressure sensation) my ears while driving down the road (in any vehicle, and before we bought the Yukon). So much so, that I have to use the speaker phone while riding down the road... Just last night, I was using a set of high-end headphones, my wife walked into the room to ask a question, so I pulled one of the headphones off one ear. As soon as I did that, a pressure sensation shot through my head! So leads to the next issue where folks are stating that the front seats are worse than the back seats -- If it were a mechanical issue (roof, shocks, wheels, etc), it should effect all seating positions. The member who stated that the backseats have no little to no issue, but the front seats do -- this just happens to be where the majority of the sound system resides ... ?? Does this seem crazy?? Edit: Refer to this video -- The engineer refers specifically to a "boom" the engine makes, thus using the Noise Cancelation system to drown it out. Can Active Noise Cancelation be turn off??
  9. Update on mine: The dealership is taking our Yukon back. Apparently White Diamond and Jet Black interior just DOESN'T exist. We apparently have one of very few ever made. The dealership is only allowing us to do an exchange as they've already paid off our 2011 Yukon we traded in. We've spent 2 days searching and hunting for a Yukon my wife would almost "settled" with as her color combo is no where to be found... We finally settled on a deal for a Iridium Denali that's in transit and will be here in about 2 weeks. I pray this one is ok (literally)! I'm going on the hope that "not all of them are defective"! Haha!
  10. Almost the same w/ us.. We traded in a 2011 Yukon that we've had no problems out of! Solid truck and we loved it -- now we're kind of missing it My 2014 Sierra is awesome! Few little things here and there, but all is good now and love driving it! Problem Update-- The dealer is dragging their feet on taking this Yukon back. We notified them of issue 3 days after we took delivery (one day was a Sunday when they were closed). They have updated us and told us they would NOT give us back our old Yukon unless we pay over $2k more than what they gave us on our trade value... NO THANKS... And they also told us they ARE NOT offering us a loaner so we could re-order a new one... They told us they could find one on a lot somewhere, or they have a Denali that we would need to front $5k more. We're considering doing the Denali, but I'm totally worried it'll have the same issue! We've contacted GM customer service to escalate the issue, but it seems either way, we're car-less, or stuck w/ an SUV that I can't stand to be in...
  11. I fully agree.. Although the reps are very nice and all -- WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING TO FIX THIS KNOWN PROBLEM? Can you people not make some kind of "trouble ticket" to get this fixed during assembly? We will not be buying another Yukon until it's confirmed this buffering issue is FIXED!
  12. Big question then -- What will you get next???
  13. Mine has the F for the 10th character in the VIN, so its a 2015 still. I haven't seen any release/production dates for the 2016 at all. The wife is completely sold on getting another one. She refuses to have this "home-made" fix job for our current one. I would assume most people who purchase a $65k SUV w/ 300 miles would cringe to have the interior roof be completely ripped out and then "glued" back on the cross-beams.. My only fear is getting ANOTHER one w/ the issue...
  14. Little update -- I took the Yukon by the local dealer today to have it checked out. I had their head service tech ride w/ me for a few miles down the road.. He had the same pressure sensation in his ears as well.. The more I ride in the thing, the worse my head hurts literally hours AFTER I'm out of it. They gave me the details of the service bulletin and pictures... It's intense! Literally taking everything out from the headrest up and using C-clamps to re-attache the roof sheet metal... I'm now waiting on the Service Manager to get back in touch with me. I'm certainly not wanting to keep a truck w/ 300 miles and have the entire interior ripped out.. and it only "possibly" fix the issue.
  15. Andraya, Thank you for your offer. We've just hit 200 miles on the Yukon and it'll be going in tomorrow for a part install (our custom purchase) and I'll have them check out the pressure. I'll reference the ID numbers I found off the net. The wife is less than thrilled to have her entire (brand new) roof liner pulled out to have this "fix" done. My question really is, does this actually FIX the issue? We are hoping this it isn't just the start of multiple trips and days in and out of the shop. I haven't seen anyone post on the completion bulletin as of yet, so it has me a little concerned about the success of it. -Evan
  16. This is such a pity... We just picked up our custom ordered 2015 Yukon SLT over the weekend (built early Aug 2014).. YUP, we are getting the pressure in our ears as we ride.. It isn't terrible, but it's uncomfortable. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous we are having this issue... The vehicle is awesome.. Ride and built quality seem very solid.. just the annoying pressure... Has anyone had the bulletin fix done and it work?? #PIT5318 Doc 3975780? Has this fixed the pressure issue?
  17. Zero rubbing.. I probably could have gone taller/wider with no problems (sorry for late reply).
  18. Here's mine w/ the new tires.. 1.5in leveling kit w/ 275/65 Terra Grapplers
  19. What price are you guys getting for the new plug and play version?? GM-Truck coupons flying around anywhere out there for them? Edit: For the Amp version of the steps.
  20. What color is your trim (on the doors and center console) ??? Totally want it! I hate my light wood trim.
  21. Appreciate it! Your's as well!
  22. Here's my install from today.. I went w/ the 1.5in leveling kit from McGaughy's.. Overall decent parts, but you'll need new bolts!! The factory nuts will NOT work and will only go on a few threads.. Luckily, I had extra bolts from years ago in the tool box that work prefect! Its 39inches in the front and 40inches in the back. Really dig the new stance! Bigger tires are up next!
  23. Just pick 'er up tonight.. SLT 4x4, Iridium w/ jet black interior.. LOVE IT!!
