My noise is exactly how LS 1st GEN describes. I'd make time for the trip to the dealer. They'll probably say they can't reproduce it but at least it'll be documented.

Just to clarify I did bleed the brakes at each wheel also. Pedal is a lot better. Not sure why the stealer insisted it was fine.

My pedal had a good solid feel before the dealer replaced the EBCM. They looked at it again and said the pedal was normal and was the same as others on the lot. Again I can't stress enough that my pedal was way softer after the dealer replaced the EBCM. After doing some research on the web I found out that the module can trap air in it and needs to be bled with a special scan tool or get the ABS to activate. So....it's raining here tonight so I went out and slammed the brakes about a dozen time to activate the ABS and presto. Pedal is noticeably firmer. Call BS if you want but that's my story. As far as the clanking, it very sporadic and my guess is the slip yoke. The vibration is also sporadic but i had a 2015 Tahoe as a rental and I noticed the same vibration when it went into V4 mode and I had a light load but not quit enough to go back to 8 cylinders.

They called me yesterday and said it was a faulty "electronic brake module" and they replaced it. They said they could not reproduce the metallic clanking or the vibration. When I got to the dealer to pick it up it was after hours so I dropped the rental truck gets in the mail slot and got in my truck to leave. I immediately noticed that the brake pedal was extremely soft and wouldn't build up pressure. Not to mention sticky steering wheel and grease on the carpet. So I had to take a couple hours of sick leave this morning to take the truck back. They called an hour ago and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes and all the trucks on the lot have the same soft pedal. It will be tomorrow morning before I can pick it up (again). At this point I don't know what to do. The pedal had a good firm feel when I dropped it off now it has almost no pressure but the dealer insists its right.

I'm dropping the truck off tomorrow morning for the the dealer to look at it again. Also going for the 10,000 mi oil change and a vibration in the drivetrain that started a few weeks ago. Also tranission occasionally slips under moderate acceleration.

Now that my 4.3 has 5k miles on it I'm getting almost 18 mpg on average. As high as 24 mpg on long trips.

Thanks. I'll contact my dealer about this TSB number and see what they say. Wonder why they didn't catch it.

A quick internet search makes it seem like its a common problem. Not just in our body style either. Some guys are tapping a grease fitting into the yoke but I'm not about to do that to a truck with only 5k miles on it and 6 yrs of payment left.

I have a '14 sierra that just rolled 5k miles and for the last 3 weeks or so I have a loud metallic "clunk" noise that sounds typical of a bad u joint. It happens when I let off the gas then reapply the gas while moving. Had the dealer check it out while in for the oil change. The service writer drove it with me in the passenger seat and duplicated the noise several times. Long story short, they had my truck for 7hrs and the tech said the noise was normal and sited a TSB number. The noise happens every drive and is loud and you can feel it in the cab. Anyone else have this issue that actually found a fix? It's extremely annoying to have a new $40k truck with rear end problems. The local dealer has been absolutely no help.

I've got a double cab 4x4 with the 4.3. Only run through 3 tanks of fuel so far but according to the math I'm getting 15 ish. My last tank was only 14.9 but I had a little more city driving than usual. Gas milage is the only complaint so far with mine.

I also asked this question and the unanimous response is you can't. Sucks don't it.

I calculate by using the trip and a full tank. The DIC is always roughly 2 MPG or so more than the math shows. I know there's a lot of vairables for fuel milage, I'm just curious if everyone else with the 6 cylinder is getting around the same as me. I hate to drop it off at the dealer for something like fuel milage. Seems like most people went with the 5.3. I'm starting to wish I had.

No mods and always in 2wd. Not dogging it either. Haven't towed anything yet. The truck is only a month old so I'm still babying it for now. On the highway I set the cruise control at 65 mph. I bumped up the tire pressure from the factory 35 to 40 psi cold to see if that might help slightly.

I have a 2014 sierra 1500 4.3L with the standard. It's my understanding that all the new engines drop cylinder via the AFM. Question is, with the standard DIC I can't find an indicator light to show when it's in V4 mode. Is this light only on the upgraded DIC's?

I have filled up 4 times now in my new 2014 sierra 1500 4x4 with the 4.3 V6. About 50/50 highway/city driving and I'm only averaging 25 MPG. No towing or hauling other than a cross bed tool box. Love the truck but this mileage can't be the norm. What are you guys getting?
