07 NBS 5.3 58k miles using 1-2 quarts between changes. I was so excited to find a low mileage Silverado from an elderly gentlemen but after owning the truck for a year, I am soooo disappointed with the oil consumption issue. I have a few questions I hope someone can confirm for me before I start throwing money at this. 1. If I get a tune and disable AFM will that in itself correct the oil consumption issue or will I still have to change out the valve cover? 2. From the images of the new valve cover online, I can only see a difference in the baffle on the underside of the cover. Is there any visual difference on the outside of the new valve cover such that I can confirm whether it has or has not already been changed out? Thanks
