lockey14s is right. It would be nice to shim them. They have them out there like that to keep the spring from winding up (wheel hop) so bad under heavy throttle. It may crimp the spring over time, but I bet it will be fine. The only concern I would have is that in increases the spring rate. Read that as a rougher ride.

I suspect you are right, but the right shocks would go a long way to smoothing it out. Now, the right shocks??

You have to split the tire diameter, so in "theory" it would be 8.5".

^+1 I could search threads until I'm blue... Does anyone have a link to a particularly good shock thread. One that applies to smoothest ride for lifted applications.

With most of the offset you are looking at, you will have clearance problems. However, I'm with you, those offsets will make the wheel look much better. You could move down to a 33", but if that is out of the question, go with the 7"RCX. With that lift, there should be no problem. The other scenarios may be possible, but with an unknown amount of trimming. The 2" might not have much impact, but if you are truly leveling, straightening out the rake will point those lights up quite a bit.

Try it with what you have first. Try to preserve the ride. If you lift it an inch or two, you will likely just space the strut or replace it. Easy to do, but relative to ride you want, you may have more insight after experiencing the lift as is. Just a thought...

I could only find the 5100s for 2014s with a 1-2" lift...?? Are the RCX 2.2s worth the extra money, and are either of the RCX shocks smoother than the stock shocks? I have to say that my stock truck rides like a damn stagecoach.

Thanks for the reply! While cost is not an object, I do not want to pay more for the same or less. At first, I was kind of scared of the RCX, but they have a lift that does not use knuckles. They say the 7" will clear the 33 x 12.5. They said it would clear a 35 if I was not using the 12" wide rims. Any thoughts on a smooth ride shock?

I have a 2014 Silverado WT reg cab std bed 4wd. I'm going to put a set of 33x12.50x20s on some 20x12s with a -44mm offset. I'm pretty sure a 6" lift will get the clearance I need. However, I'm interested in a better than factory ride. Low to no maintenance. Good geometry everywhere...drive line, steering, suspension, etc... Good build quality. The two least important issues are ease of installation, and cost. None the less, low to no cutting/grinding would be appreciated. What is the best kit?
