Hello, stevelo26 here...forgot to follow up with dealer resolution to the squeak....Dealed installed a pair of hose clamps to keep the valve open...I said: "really?"

2015 GMC Sierra SLT Double Cab I have 2800 miles on my truck, and I love it...except for the squeak...thanks to these forums I identified the problem, wired up a solution to keep the flapper valve open, and no longer have the squeak. Called the dealer to see if this would cause any long term side effects, and he asked that I bring it in to take care of it...very nice and helpful on the phone...but tried to discredit the forum by stating that "you can't trust what you read on the forums"...but the forum correctly identified the problem (on the first try), provided a work around for testing, and proved to be the correct solution, is what I told him. I am sure that they deal with people all day long that read about problem "X", and it doesn't end up being the problem at all...However, I asked my service guy what else it could be now that I don't have a squeak...my appt with the service dept is in an hour...can't wait to hear what they have to say.
