  1. "iworkforGM" (My brother retired from GM and my nephew currently works for GM) Ok I have 2 questions for you, I did my own 2020 upfitters switch install as shown in earlier pictures in this posting. Could you send me a name of a upfitters shop in Utah as I understand there is none per my dealer in Las Vegas / Nevada. I would like to set up the upfitter work when my truck arrives. 1) When will the 193 upfitters option “9L7" for these upfitters switches be released. It seems it is not even on the option list on new truck orders. Is it constrained? Yesterday I ordered my 24 Ultimate D, and dealer said I could add it if there is time and before production, he was able to select the option "9L7"? There were 2 other options that are also on constraint which baffles me. It’s the "PDL" cargo package, and "SOM" the illumination package. Sorry as I know these do not pertain to these discussions. 2) On the new data sheet (#193) for the '24, U Denali, it appears one has to remove the driver’s side left knee bolster? In the earlier 2020 model one had to remove the entire dash above the console as well as the entire top of the console. The reason was to loosen and remove 2 screws so the new bolster could be fastened across the driver’s dash. Is it the same for this updated #193 knee bolster replacement? also how much problem will it to remove the center stack glass screen to remove and replace the plastic bolster panels? Chuck K
  2. After a few searches I answered my own question. Its not a color problem. Its the relocation of the toggle switches on the dash center stack. The Ultimate Denali has all the toggle switches at the bottom below the AC controls. The only alternative is to put it into the same location as the 2020 thru 2023 models. This would provide the alternativfe switch placements and allow the outfitters switches. So I am thinking I can do it but am I willing to cut my own knee bolster panel below the hood level? Well I'll wait till I order my truck.
  3. So if someone with a 2024 Ultimate Denali can snap several photos of the dash center stack! Then take a couple of the passengers fuse panel under the hood over the fender.
  4. Ok this IS the same switches as the 2020 thru 23 models! The only difference is the oval trim around the switches. I installed my 2020 upfitters. NOW the real question is someone who has a "ultimate Denali" take a photo of the same location on the dash center stack! Anyone can do that? I am willing to say the upfitters only come in black? I wonder what is the Ultimate dash color?
  5. Can someone take a couple of photos of the actual 24 switchbank on the console. I canno figure out why the Ultimate D will not be sold with the switch package? I can and have done the 2020 switch install myself. A bity of a challenge but it took time. Also those owner that have the Ultimate D can you take the passenger fuse box plasstic lid off to see the fust buss etc. I want to compate with the older fuse boxes. Thanks Chuck K
  6. Yes there are 2 modules. The thin one with a clip on each end is for the keyless entry. The larger rectangular one is the TMPS trailer system. I did orient the module under my trailer so it faces the 3 axle tires, under the trailer. I am no more than 12 feet from the box to the furthest tire. I am not finished yet but maybe this weekend. I also did orient the module to face. The same way it was on the truck in case it had a internal antenna.
  7. I may suggest if your in progress. If you pull thru a 90 elbow (electrical elboe) get some clear wire lube. Lube it generously and it will have resistance but should go thru. Good Luck Chuck
  8. Ok a little ketchup, I ran a 18 gauge pair of red / black cable. I intercepted the 22 gauge cable about 6 inches from the ends. I also verified the cable was getting power to the end. It now powers up the TMPS and it was recognized the TMPS receiver. I had the receiver on the ground adjacent to the wall of the trailer. I got 1 tire to see in the truck. The others I was not able to get the truck to see it. I stopped and put things away for now. I am waiting for a Deusch military bulk head connector to use in the bed of the truck next to the trailer / cam plugs. When I get that I will put it all together. I'll take the trailer for a rid to wake up all the tire sensors. Then again try to get the truck to recognize the tire sensor. Chuck On a second note, I understand someone had a problem that the tire blew out before the TMPS monitor in the truck responded. A passerby flagged down the driver as the tire was shredded and nothing was left but rim? Any one check how long or the response time from a tire problem to the dash display?
  9. Mike I just tried to relocate my module. I made up a cable 22 gauge twisted shielded. I made up the ends and ran it under my trailer. I had the module 16 feet away from the furthest tire. I ran 22 gauge 2 pair twisted shielded about 53 feet long. I tried to relocated the module under the trailer and the truck didn't seem to recognize a receiver was present. I rang out the cable and its all good. I also put the receiver back on the truck and it recognizes it? I ran out of time so next week I plan on taking a voltage reading as the only thing different is you had 20 gauge power wire. I might try that also. I'll let everyone know what's happening. Chuck K
  10. Yes they did in that earlier photo link I added some photos of the install. I also added some descriptions of each photo. What I first did was remove the camera plastic ball housing with the 2 screws. Then I removed the cable from the camera. I then plugged in the new 20 foot cable and connected the original cable end. I took everything to my truck and plugged it in like I would for a trailer hook up. I started the truck and while in the cab I had the camera all plugged in and was able to field check it was all good prior to reassembly. Looked fine you will find it will also be fine. Remember I had the trailer adapter also plugged in to simulate I had the trailer plugged in and I got the mirror cameras to work showing the split screens. Chuck
  11. GM took a radical turn in the last months and removed the wireless compatibility for our trucks. We were told to utilize a hard wire connection. There was a announcement from GM on 11-30-2020 a flier called GM Authority looked into the apple car play and the android phones if GM was going to get back and reset the ability to cell uses. The response was and I quote "This does not mean the job can not be done. It simply means that The General does not appear to be interested in doing it. Producers of several aftermarket solutions claim that they can offer wireless Android Auto or Apple Car-Play on GM models which do not have the new cable-free functionality," Now a company comes forward called "White Automotive and Media services". They offer a radio upgrade. I am wondering I have a fully loaded 2020 Denali with 360 cameras but the phone is NOT wireless and no texting ability's. I am wondering they say its just like the factory, BUT does this modification also have texting ability like my old 2016? Who here has made the modification and what did you fully get. I know its pricy BUT I am willing to pay for it and if it does what I need. Yes I did email them but I did not get answers I was looking for. So no better than ask in here if anyone has done it. Thanks in Advance Chuck
  12. Yes it shows it in that link, it has trailer pics of the back ramp. Chuck
  13. Ok I found this on the web and credit the original poster. But this is a detailed on how to remove the console it takes time BUT makes all life easier. You will need those plastic tools to remove interior panels. The hardest part was removing the dash trim around the radio assembly. The second hardest part was putting together the side panel and making sure it slipped into the slot. You WILL NEED Microsoft Office / word to view this. It will down load to you computer. 14. Good morning Mike. I was wondering did you or will you use a twisted shielded cable for the TMPS signal conductor. If you used a shielded wire normally its grounded at the supply / source end. Are you grounding the shielded wire or are you just using twisted shielded cable. Thanks Chuck
  15. Ok this is great info. I will be moving my trailer TMPS receiver very soon. Thanks Chuck
  16. If by chance the next time in service for the receiver maybe grab a photo of that part. would be nice. Thanks Chuck
  17. This is music to my ears. But the final question is that can you run the truck without a trailer TMPS receiver? and how will that effect the on board systems with missing TMPS trailer receiver? will it generate codes. Also IF I was to permeant install a new TMPS under my trailer and make up a cable to my truck with a built in connector in the bed. Then I would have to disconnect the TMPS under the license plate? The reason I want to not remove any wiring or plugs to hook my trailer under the truck or license plate. A simple means but it would either mean removing the existing TMPS receiver leaving it out when not towing OR having a way to disable the on board receiver on the truck. Just trying to think of a easy way to tow. The last real question is that can you just install a new TMPS receiver and not require a dealer to program or code a new receiver for the trailer, even if you have 1 in operation at a time. basic can one run without receiver and or buy a new receiver and swap operation at a time to tow? will the change create problems? Chuck
  18. Ok reread your post above at least 10 times and broke it down. So you are saying that the main truck tires 4 or 6 tires appear to have its own TMPS receiver elsewhere on the truck. I also understand that the TMPS receiver that is located in back of the license plate is sole use is the trailer tires? So I am now curious just how long the extension can be made without affecting the CANN BUSS. You made a length of 30 feet, how much longer do you think it can be made? CN you attempt to make it 50 feet and if problems occur maybe 40 feet? I also understand that the orientation of the TMPS must be maintained. Now on your extension cable did you use an twisted pair only for signal and utilize straight wire for power? This IS a great start of resolving our TMPS issues. Chuck
  19. I am curious as to what are the front wheels reporting to the receiver? What is the new distance from the front wheels from the original rear license plate location of the receiver and the new location of the receiver on the trailer. Does it still pick up the TMPS front wheel signals, this would require a road trip on your trailer / truck. Where are you picking up power from (+ / - ) are you using the trailer power or the original power or using the trailer power? Have you made up a new jumper harness with the same connectors, or solder and splice to extend the factory harness to the receiver? I just got my connectors from Amazon for the factory TMPS receiver. Thanks Chuck sorry for all the questions.
  20. Yes I have also run the camera cable thru a conduit. You can open the camera and the cable will be able to be disconnected. Follow this link and your questions will be answered. https://photos.app.goo.gl/d2UVb4djaqf3ashL9 Good luck Chuck
  21. Here is the camera views link, I forgot in the main text. https://photos.app.goo.gl/jcth3iGG6BSH5qDi6
  22. Yesterday I got my photos and also added captions to help others on what I accomplished. There are 2 links as the first was various cables from Pasternack and 1 was 4 feet and the second was 20 feet. The 20 foot Pasternack is in a 1/2 EMT electrical conduit. The 4 foot was utilized to relocated the bumper camera receptacle into the bed. I swapped the receptacles between the bed and the bumper. This relocated the 4 pin trailer connector from the bed to the bumper. This link also shows the factory cable at the camera https://photos.app.goo.gl/d2UVb4djaqf3ashL9 The second link is to show how I installed the 1/2 EMT conduit in the wall of my trailer which runs in the ceiling to the rear of the trailer. The first 3 photos shows the wall open. The rest of the photos shows the rear cameras like the mirror and the camper camera views. This should give a angle and what you would see. Chuck
  23. L8T, so I was thinking I have my 48 foot trailer as noted above. Thinking of the factory TMPS receiver conflict with the one that is located behind the rear truck plate. I have enough distance to place the second TMPS (new) receiver to the rearward of all three axles. This is a lot further than 23 feet. It would be parallel the factory one and I would think its not a conflicting signal no programing would be needed? The main problem I may encounter is the longer cable length of the twisted pair. I could tap into my 12 volt on board trailer power so only the twisted pair would be a sole cable also reducing the interference of the 12 volt power. What's your thought? Chuck
  24. Ok I ran the original cable from the truck bed with ample slack so it had enough when I went I to a full jack knife turn. The cable is well protected for use under the trailer as I zip tied it to a large 1-1/2 EMT conduit supplying 12 volts to my DC power panel and 8000# winch. I ran 1/2" EMT in the ceiling and 1 90* elbow bent to go down the wall to under the trailer. I used a extra bushing so it won't get damaged, I also used "electrical duct seal" it's a clay like brick to seal conduits to deter rodents and bees going into the conduits.I connected the 20' extension which will snap and lock together. I used 1 thin layer of 33+ tape to hold both cables making 1 pass of tape. I pulled the Pasternack cable to the top rear inside the trailer. I used a wire loom and covered the Pasternack cable passing thru the trailer rear wall and some slack to the camera. You can see the previous link on how I did the camera housing entry. I have to make sure you understand it was a tight and firm pull the get the GM cable end around / thru that 90* bend. I actually went to Lowes used the 1/2 EMT bender on a full length of EMT. They looked at me, I said I just bent it but it's a straight pipe lol. So I would also recommend clear poly lube wire lube slobbered around the pasternack and GM connection in the EMT bends. Good Luck Chuck
  25. If you look close at the photos I made. I have multiple close up of the camera and how its made. It appears to be water proof although I would be safe to say not immersed or multiple meters Those that have the equinox cameras in hand can look again at the photos. You can also see the camera cable from the factory as well as the Pasternack cable I utilized to extend the camera 20 feet. If you could maybe take some photos to compare to my close ups. https://photos.app.goo.gl/d2UVb4djaqf3ashL9
