  1. That nuts. I thought about that but didn't have any when I did it. This time I over torqued it a little. I will pick up some Loctite and keep an eye on it.
  2. The bolt was pretty well lodge in there thank goodness.
  3. So, I serviced my rear differential Friday. That all went well. While lying under the truck taking the cover off, I happened to notice that my right rear shock upper bolt had backed all the way out and was just hanging on at an angle. Surprised I didn't lose it. Most of my driving is pavement so that probably helps. Guess I didn't torque it right back when I did my shocks in November 2023. I was able to jack it up and reinstalled the bolt.
  4. Back with a little update. I read that LED aftermarket lights can sometimes affect the gauges and cause issues. So I decided to switch back to stock headlights to see if that was the problem and I have not had the problem since doing that. Seems a little weird it just started happening after running the led lights for 5 month.
  5. Did you ever figure out the cause of your problems? I am experiencing the same issues. I am checking my grounds this week. I already replaced my battery since it was 4.5 years old.
  6. Talked to the mechanic at work and he said he will scan it for me Friday to see if there are any codes.
  7. Thank you. I do plan to check the grounds tomorrow. I watched the video that was posted in this thread. Just trying to get this problem situated without going to the dealer.
  8. Have not. I don't think I can do that with my cheap ODB ll code reader. Since we have an auto shop with mechanics where I work my Plan is to drive it to work and get them to scan it. I will make sure to check the BCM codes.
  9. I just used my multimeter and watched it as I started the truck. Which the truck doesn't have any issues starting. I probably should have gone and had it tested with a load tester. Anyways the battery is just about 4.5 years old. I went ahead and replaced the battery today with a fresh one just due to age. The new battery did not make any difference. Still doing the same thing. Remember this issue only happens when I shift into gear. My next step is to check the grounds. Then I will try to be observant when I am driving to see if I notice any gauge malfunction like it does at start up.
  10. So today I went out and tested the battery and it tested ok. This issue only happens when the gear sifter is moved for some reason. Will check the grounds later when it warms up.
  11. Thanks for the videos! I found a similar one talking about the grounds. I will test the battery, but I am just going to replace it anyway. Although it starts fine, the last time I had to replace the original battery it stranded me. Left for work and stopped for coffee and when I came back out to leave it was dead not even a click.
  12. So, for the past couple weeks I have been noticing my gauges and message center going nuts on startup. When I start up then shift to Drive is when it starts to happen. You will see the shift never light up drive, the message center starts showing different messages, and the tpms I am posting a video. I have not done any trouble shooting or testing of anything but thought I would post the video to see if other have had similar issues. Now my battery is probably going on 5 years old, so I am leaning thinking that is possible issue. I know with my Volvos, when the battery gets weak the dash lights will start to do similar things like this. This weekend I will try to test the battery. Another thing I noticed is when I remote start and then unlock to get in the truck that the truck will shut off when I open the door. This did not happen before. https://youtu.be/gZ4SGQrXJKk
  13. Ok, yea if you want to keep those wheels you will need a spacer. Like I said I have Rough Country uppers arms and they require .25. When I did my lift, I did wonder had I used a different control arm would it still rub, and you pretty much answered that for me. I opted for new wheels with a different offset. I consulted with the main financial advisor in the house and she didn't give me a NO so new wheels it was.
  14. What size is your stock wheel you are running? I have rough country control arms and I rubbed with the 18'' wheels. Rough country states that you will need a .25'' spacer to avoid that or else get new wheels with a different offset.
  15. The tire tread lines pretty mu up with the fender and the sidewall is what is just outside the fender.
  16. Wheels and tires on for good now. Alignment tomorrow.
  17. I’m slow but tires mounted and balanced. Did a test fit. No rubbing sitting still. May have to pin the liner back a little near mudflap but will see. Need to install the rear blocks and get alignment next week and be done.
  18. Oh nice. Thats not bad at all. I got some goodies yesterday. Waiting on the rubber. Need to order some black lug nuts.
  19. Need to order new TPMS for the new wheels. I know they are 315mhz. Anyone have the correct part number? When I look up on GM pats website I get this number GM 84413350. That doesn't seem to line up with all the numbers when I search other sites like tpms.com. I reached out to them to make sure I order the correct ones.
  20. That is excellent work on that skid plate! Thanks for that other info. I will have to measure my rear blocks and see if they are the same. I am going to assume I will need to 3-inch block to get my rear level.
  21. Great looking set up! I like that front bumper on your truck. Is that the stock set up for the 2016 Z71? Earlier today I ordered up the Hankook's in 295, so no turning back now. Question do you know how far your front sits from ground to the fender well? After making adjustments on my front coilover my front is sitting at 40'' from ground to fender. My rear sits at 38.25''. Thats with my worn out tires I should say. So, to get level I need to add another 2'' to the rear. What size of block do I need to get level? How big are the stock block on our trucks?
  22. Sounds good. I think I’m just going to go with the 295 and call it day. I start looking into things and I just rack my brain to no end.
  23. I guess if I went with 285 they wouldn’t stick out? I can live with just a slight poke. Hell maybe I will get some fender flares at some point. How far out do they stick out about an inch?
  24. I decided to skip using a wheel spacer and I ordered a set of 17'' ZERO OFFSET wheels. MVX VX61 in Gunmetal. They were budget friendly. Now I am torn on what size tires. I am debating on 285/70r17 or 295/70r17. I have read and searched every site and looked at a thousand different pictures on sites like custom offset until my head spins. Any input is appreciated. I am thinking about getting the HANKOOK tires.
