Thought I would update in case anyone was interested. I bought the truck. It has a bit of self lubricating chassis going on, but all appears to be easy fixes. There was some rust that was a bit worse than the pics look, but the cap corners and mounts were decent. The first thing I am going to do is make it less drippy, and stop the rust from spreading. Runs and drives really well. I also got the price down about $1000 from the asking price.
Thanks for the replies. I know it's worth what I am willing to spend or what I think it's worth to me, but I am not always sure my value on it is "correct" or reasonable. I honestly had a feeling that his price was pretty reasonable, but not necessarily a steal.
I am going to look at '70 c10 this weekend. The pics look like it's in decent condition minus some what appears to be minor rust here and there. Owner says it passed inspection very recently. Has been upfront providing more pics of rust issues. I am attending welding school, and have been a mechanic my entire life, so I should be able to handle most issues eventually. I wanted to get opinions on what folks think of the condition of this truck and what you would pay. Biggest problem I have buying old cars and trucks is knowing what to offer without offending someone. part of that may be that I don't have a good idea of actual worth.

First off let's get this out of the way I SEARCHED! Maybe I am not great at boulean searching, but I searched. 2017 1500 Z71 Crew. Planning to do a 2" level (thinking Motofab). Trying to decide on wheels. I found some I like, but offset and backspacing confuses me. I used custom wheeloffset to find similar, and I think it will be all good, but hoped some folks may chime in. I want the tread under the fenders, or just barely out. Planning 275/70R18 goodyear trailrunners which measure out to 33.2". The wheels I am looking at are 18x9 with a 5.47 backspacing and listed as +12 offset. Think this will get my desired result?

Good morning all. I am new here, but not to forums in general. I have been looking at buying a '16-18 Silverado 1500 for a bit now, and Saturday I pulled the trigger. I traded my '15 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon in on a '17 LT Z71 with 8,000 miles on the clock for a price difference of about $5,000. So I have a newer vehicle that gets better gas mileage, is more practical, is just a better overall vehicle, and have no car payment. This is my first full-size truck and I am loving it. I had a Colorado about 8 years ago. Little about me. Total gear head who can't leave anything alone. Generally when I buy a bike or vehicle I already have parts waiting for it at the house.... That didn't happen this time, but I did remove the running boards from this truck on day 2. I have been turning wrenches my entire life, and am currently a service manager at an ATV, dirtbike, side x side dealer. Not much really planned for the truck, but I will be using this place to learn about good power upgrades and get opinions on products on the market. Enough babble.... Pics
