  1. Finally got my seat covers! Here's the before and after, and some others: They were a royal pain to install, tore up my fingers pretty good with all of the rubbing and pulling and crazy grips i had to put on these things to pull them over the seats and get everything in place. I bled, but i got them on and they look pretty dang good! They look damn near factory actually! Thats always a perk, but I did run into issues. On the front seats, on the inside edges of the back pieces (next to the center console), i couldnt find a way to pull down on that spot properly and get the slack out, so they look like this on the sides closest to the center console: That actually looks quite a bit worse than it looks in person, but i keep rubbing it down and trying to move things around just enough to hopefully even it out a bit. The biggest problem I had was the back seat. When i lift the seat up, my truck does not have the feature that allows me to fold down the seat back to get behind the back seats. I did find a mod a year or so ago (https://youtu.be/1ZgS_Lg8a7Y) that gives me that feature, but you have to completely remove the back seats to do this, and yes, i did this, because it felt IMPOSSIBLE to get the cover over the back seat. The reason is the bottom of the rear seat back cover attaches at the bottom (under the seat) with Velcro. The hook part of the velcro went down the back and stuck to the back of the seat as though it was the hoop side of the velcro, so i couldnt get it to go down at all, i tried for an extremely frustrating and infuriating 30 minutes before taking out the back seat, doing that hack, and putting the covers on while the seats were out of the truck. I do believe that the back seat covers are made a tad bit too small. I made those suckers as tight as i possibly could, and i had it as tight as i could get it and the velcro couldnt attach in some areas, and was barely attached everywhere else. Doing this while the seat was not removed i think would be impossible! The last issue i have is this: That's a picture of the back seat, between the 60/40 seats (the two seats) where they separate, one side is 1 seat, the other side is 2 seats. The problem here is there's flaps on both seat bottom covers that get tucked in where they go together, but there's no place to permanently tuck those flaps in. This results in that flap getting caught on the seat belt latches and completely covering them when bringing the seat back down after lifting it. Not a huge issue, but if i forget, then my kids wont be able to buckle up without me getting back out and fixing it again. In the picture on the right, i reached down there and pulled it up. The first time they covered it, i didnt realize it did that because of how perfectly it covered the seat belt cover. It only covered one so i still saw the second one. It took me a few seconds to figure it out and fix it. Aside from that, i love them! Total pain in the ass to install, but as far as i can tell at this point, I like it a lot! The directions suck and i have an extra piece. The entirety of everything is covered so i'm not sure what this extra piece is for.
  2. It wasnt too bad, but i had to take the door panels off to get to the wiring. When you open your door all the way and look where the hinges are, you can see a ribbed tube (haha) going from the door to the frame of the truck. Thats the harness that you have to take out, and add a couple wires in at. It wasnt very hard, but i'm pretty sure i missed something or followed the wrong directions. The options I choose were; Cap Color? Paintable Light Option? Smoked Strip Flood or Spot Light? High Output Spot Rear Facing Lights? Cargo and Reverse Defrost Options? Both upper and lower Hardwire or Plug and play? Modify harness with kit Manual or Power Fold? Power Fold I also chose to get the new switch from them for $87 or so. They have been nice, but i have 3 issues with them currently. I painted them myself but never polished them for the shine. I have everything i need to polish, but I just havent done it yet, so this one is on me! The passenger mirror is warped. They inspect the glass before using them, so customer support things something might be messed up behind it and have asked me to take it apart to check for that. I havent done it yet, havent had time, but i will soon. The lights which i guess are considered cargo lights do not turn on when i go in reverse. They are supposed to turn on, i paid for that option, but i followed a youtube tutorial from somebody to install mine. They may not have had that option, and i did have a couple extra parts, so... Something is likely not hooked up, havent had time to look into this yet. Thats it, aside from those they are great! Its concerning to me that when i open or close the doors, you can see them shake like they are super lose and about to fall off, but after looking that up online, it seems that most tow mirrors do that as a way to prevent wear and tare. I hope thats correct!
  3. Haha yes! FYI: These are the Go Rhino Dominator D4 dual step nerf bars. I have only 2 issues with these: 1) When screwing in one of the bolts into the main tube, the rivet that holds the bolt came out very easily, so out of 8 bolts on that side, 7 of them are installed, one isnt. 2) The two steps on each side are made to look almost like they are floating, connected at the bar but they stretch back towards the tube but appear to have no supports in the back, but they do... The problem is that while the front steps appear perfectly flat, the back steps appear to have the floating side up higher, so they arent as level as the fronts. You can only tell if you really look, but once you see it, its super obvious! You cant really see it in the pictures though.
  4. It appears as though I forgot to post the images of the mirrors! Well, i also bought new nerf bars and installed those, so these images will show both the mirrors and the nerf bars.
  5. So i've done some looking around and it seems that most people are saying that HID's are brighter than LED's. Is this true? I found that the Lasfit lights, they are LED and each bulb is 5000 lumens. HID Concepts has an HID set thats 3600 lumens which is the brightest HID's i can find. HID Concepts has an LED set but they dont list the lumens, and they are actually telling customers that the HID's are brighter. What i've found between lastfit and HID Concepts is that when you look for HID, i cant find higher than 3600 (typically 3200 to 3400) but lumens for LED's are higher, yet everyone says HID's are brighter? I'm feeling like a 3000 lumen HID vs a 3000 lumen LED and the HID would appear brighter (maybe the light carries further?), but for some reason these D5S's are being made brighter as LED's than HID's so the LED's are actually brighter than the HID's if the lumens are higher? I'm a bit confused if you couldnt tell haha
  6. Can you post a link to the DiodeDynamics bulbs? When i look by vehicle on the site, the only headlights are replacement OEM HID's
  7. That Lasfit looks pretty good! I took screenshots of the same part of the road you were on with each and compared them. I have one question that the video (due to quality) makes it really hard to tell. It appears as though the stock HID lights might be better further down the road where the lasfit LED's dont do as good, but do significantly better up close. I paused the video's before you passed that factory looking thing on the left. The road looks like it was repaved and so there's a line, as soon as that disappeared under your hood, i paused it and took the screenshots. After comparing them and rewatching the video, it looked like i might be seeing more detail at a distance with stock vs lasfit. Can you confirm?
  8. Definitely wont be using the rock lights while driving. I'd use them a little for show, but mostly for lighting up the wheel wells so i can see my tires and get any big rocks out of my tires. I'd likely only use these when camping in the woods.
  9. Are you talking about the headlights being tinted? I know they are tinted, i tinted them, and i also mentioned that im fine with the brightness if there's nothing brighter but, i would of course prefer brighter. I like the tinted look, but i also like bright lights. If i have to pick one, i pick the tint and dim lights.
  10. Oh thats super new! Are your headlights tinted or untinted?
  11. Do you have any before and after pictures of the light beams on a wall or garage door or something? I think its the Morimoto kit I found last night that had some pretty bad long term reviews, so i'm curious. Also, how long ago did you install yours?
  12. I have the three lights but havent had a chance to get out there and find a mounting solution for them and my bull bar has been delayed yet again! Originally it was going to ship 7/8, then on 7/8 they changed it to 7/15, and today they changed it to 7/23 so i've emailed the mfg to see whats going on. I've chosen not to go with brush guards and grill guards because they cover so much of the front end. I like the look of the grill and want to be able to see it, but i'd like to have some kind of front-end protection and a bull bar fits the need. I also like the look of them. They add style without taking over the front end.
  13. I'm wondering if anyone has ever replaced these with anything brighter? They are super bright already, but for those of us who have tinted our headlights, it would be nice to have them brighten up a bit. If there's no options to do so, i'd rather keep the lights dim with the tint because of how amazing it looks! But it would be nice to go brighter without having to add a lightbar or anything. Anyone familiar with any options out there? Preferrably 6500k, if they exist.
  14. https://i.imgur.com/IKgGphs.mp4 Not sure how that video is going to show up but its of the 3rd brake light that I added today. When i walk to the side of the truck, before zooming in, you can clearly see the old one with a chrome trim added on laying on the tonneau cover. I also added the chrome tips on the grill. Didnt turn out like i had hoped.... I'm not really sure if i'm going to keep them... I'll rock them for a bit and see what i think in a couple weeks, but here's a picture from the front and an angle of the before (on the left) and the after (on the right):
  15. Well crap... Apparently i have 2 accounts Well... Here's my latest update, added paint matched fender flares: I've got chrome tips for my grill and a new 3rd break light coming in tomorrow. Here's what the front currently looks like: I'll add the chrome tips and 3rd break light tomorrow, and i have three dual row LED's coming in this weekend to simulate the special ops lighting on the front. I also have a black bull bar and tint for all of lights (headlights, tail lights, fog lights, etc...) coming in by early next week. I'll have pictures when all of that is on the truck.
  16. Thanks Frank! I've been doing more research and it seems like a 6" lift might be more trouble than its worth, mostly because i have a boat i tow often every summer. I'm finding i'd need to do something with the gears and axles or something, thats all brand new territory for me. I originally started down this road when i wanted to level the truck because it wasnt super expensive, but then i found a motofab 3" lift in the front with a 2" lift in the back for the same price as the level i was going to get, but found that was maxing out the upper control arms and started looking at a 3-4 inch lift, but found 6" lifts were a little more, but need steering stabilizers and leafs and all sorts of other stuff. So now i'm thinking a 3-4 inch lift. Will i have the same issues with this as i would a 6" lift? And back to wheels and tires, anyone using 20x9 or 20x10 Fuel Assaults on a 2017 Silverado 1500? Which one, which offset, and how far do they stick out passed the fender? Are spacers needed? Which tires are you running?
  17. I've got a 2017 Silverado 1500 Double Cab and i'm looking to put on Fuel D576 Assault Wheels, 20x10 with a -18 offset. The tires will be Toyo Open Country R/T (good blend between A/T and M/T) 35X12.50R20LT. I'm wondering a few things here that i'm hoping you guys can help me out with. Am I shooting for tires too big? Should i go with the 33's instead? For the 35's, or 33's if im shooting too high, whats the ideal lift i should get? Once #1 and #2 are taken care of, what do i need to worry about? Will it rub anywhere? do i need a steering stabilizer? I'm sparkling brand new to wheels and tires so i know very little. I was originally going to get a $125 lift and level kit from MotoFab (3" front 2" back) but now i'm looking more towards the $1000 range. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
