  1. Once it starts it just keeps getting worse. I sanded, cleaned, primed and painted these spots on mine just to see what happens before I got a new paint job. Yesterday I was going to repair another spot on a different door and took the air hose to blow off the dust from sanding and about a 10” spot of paint came off the door. It peels off like the paint isn’t even sticking to the truck. Can’t believe GM has never taken responsibility for these paint jobs.
  2. I believe that’s what I’m going to do at this point. Don’t want to fix the roof and door then it starts peeling somewhere else. I think I’ll just fix the spots to prevent any further damage and see if it happens anywhere else. If not then I will look at repainting the whole truck down the way.
  3. Yes I have contacted GM a couple times but got no response. Gonna try one more time and see what happens.
  4. Took the truck to the dealer. They said they had no explanation of why it’s doing this. Just said it was (odd). But He said we will give you a good deal to fix it. $1400 to do a (PATCH) job, just fix the spots with no warranty. Or for $3800 strip the roof and door and then I would have a warranty. I’ll be shopping around for some more pricing.
  5. Yeah don67 it is the factory paint. I’m going to take it to the dealer next week when I’m off. Hopefully they will help with this issue. I contacted GM a few days ago but got no response. We will see what they say but in my opinion paint should last a lot longer than 4 years.
  6. I guess I’ll take mine to the Dealer and also to a couple more reputable shops and see what they say. I’m afraid the rest of the truck may start doing this. Also Ichie123 that’s what I was thinking it looked like the paint didn’t adhere to the primer correctly.
  7. Thanks for the info. I bought this one used also a couple years ago. I hose wash it here at the house also, I try to stay away from pressure washers if I can. I’ll take it to a dealer and see what they say, I know it’s past the warranty stage just sucks that the paint is doing this on a 4 year old truck.
  8. So I have 2014 Silverado LTZ Diamond White Metallic, and during washing it this past weekend I noticed as I was spraying the truck off paint started peeling off the roof. Then also as I rinsed the passenger back door the same thing started happening. Seacrched the rest of the truck and I don’t see any other issues at this time. Anyone know if this is a common issue and should I try to get the spots fixed or look at re painting the whole truck? Thanks for any help.
