    RE: steering column. Did you swap out and if so, to what? I have a '88 that has slop int he steering and the 4-bolt issue too and the hosing is cracked in one place. Seriously thinking about a swap but never done one.  Mike

      Well, this has been a while.

       

      I initially did swap it out.  Had a parts truck with a fixed column.  Worked great, but it was an awkward driving position.  If you can drive with the column straight, I'd recommend that option. 

       

      Ended up that I had all the parts, and welded the column pieces back together. Reassembled the column and it's been fine for years.
