I finally got my factory remote start and keyless entry completed yesterday. Had to travel about 30 miles away but the dealership was waiting for me and completed it while I waited. Was in and out in less than 2 hours. The total for everything was $441. Which was much better than the $700+ my local dealership was wanting to charge. Thanks for all of the input from everybody. Really helped make this a smooth process. As a bonus I found a really nice dealership that actually believes in helping the customer.

I don’t have to worry about Onstar working, wasn’t in the truck to start with. If my dealer would do that deal I wouldn’t be posting about it. Unfortunately I am having to check with nearby dealerships to see if they can offer closer to what you paid. My dealer wants to charge $420 just for the install. Thank you for the labor time and price you paid. It really helps.

Custom18, Did the dealer quote you an amount before doing the work or did they just charge you time until they were done? I am looking at doing this for my 2016 WT and was quoted 275+tax for part and however long it takes to do the work. The last one they did was 3 hours and I just feel that is a little excessive for what they are doing. Does anybody have thoughts on how long this should take? I have seen some say the whole thing should take less than 1.5 hours.

Was there a final verdict on upgrading a WT? I have a new to me 2016 Sierra 2500 that came with newer mirrors that are not hooked up is my guess. The truck originally came with DE2 mirrors and somebody put on mirrors that have the blinker, running lights and side lights that I know of but none of it is working. I was needing to know how to tell what kind of mirrors I have now DPN or DQS and what I would need to activate them. I have pin 1, 2, 3, 9, 11, and 41. Thanks for any help you can provide.
