  1. Do you want to come drive my truck? It’s noticeable every time. Why would I lie to guys on a forum about this? Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. @JimCost2014 that is a nice centennial edition man. Love the blue paint on those! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I saw those earlier, I decided to go the DIY route and paint mine myself. I did not have to cut the bolt on the driver's side, I was able to get it out with a little *clears throat* persuasion. I will definitely be putting it in reverse of the way it was put in from the factory. After much deliberation on the matter I decided to go red because I just think the pop of red will look nice on an all black truck. I had a hard debate between green, red, and purple. Red takes the cake!
  4. My '16 only has 19k on it and it already sounds like clockwork when I start it up most mornings. Not really sure what I'm hearing, but it doesn't sound like lifters. AFM is a great thought, but that being said, I wish it was something that the operator of the vehicle could control. Just like the auto stop feature on the wife's cruze, I HATE THAT FEATURE, pull up to a parking spot, engine stops - put in park - engine starts right back up just for me to shut it off again. I feel the AFM switch from V4 to V8 every time it does it. Also, I'd imagine it's because of AFM, but my truck has kind of a rough idle and smells like it runs rich! WTF? I'm just happy she's still under warranty for another 3 years...
  5. Removed my tow/recovery hooks on the front today to paint them. Boy that turned out to be a little more difficult than it should've been. On my 16 sierra anyways... Also put in one of those Amazon SPauto center console organizers with the false bottom in it.. Gonna paint the tow hooks gloss red tomorrow afternoon (I have a black all terrain) and throw them back on. I'll make sure I do what GM didn't do and put that one bolt back in the correct way so I don't have to remove the dang bumper bracket thing again to take them out. Sheesh...
  6. Thanks bud, I will consider my options here. Definitely get back with you on something. Like I said, while I don’t wanna spend $1200 on a set of towing mirrors, I think I could possibly swallow that pill of $7-800 as long as it retained full functionality that my DL3 mirrors have, which I could probably resell anyways. You don’t by chance know the going rate for a set of gently used DL3s do ya? Hahah Thanks again Phil, it really speaks volumes about your personal character that you take so much of your time to help complete strangers out when it comes to this matter. 7. Hey, Sorry I didn’t give you better information first hand. I bought a set of aftermarket “DEDC” mirrors on amazon, they were supposed to have power mirror adjust, turn signal in glass, heated glass, running light, and the little reverse/clearance lights on the back side of them. As far as I know, they weren’t equipped with power fold/extend or puddle lights. Possibly part of my issue? Anyways, I did not touch my factory DL3 door harnesses, I thought the towing mirrors that I ordered would be a plug and play upgrade. So I went ahead and made the extra hole in my door for the fourth stud (*doh*), and installed the mirrors. they plugged right in and I went ahead and hooked everything back up, put the door panels back on, go to test my install and the only thing I notice that works is the power adjust on the glass. No lights. Anytime I used the turn signal (left or right), both front turn signals flashed. Not in sequence or anything, the front of the truck looked like I had my four way flashers on. The rear turn signals still functioned properly though. I just put the dl3 mirrors back in and have been driving around pulling my camper with clip on mirrors ... and after much thought I’ve decided I just can’t do it anymore I really would like the extendable towing mirrors!!! Bottom line, I can live without power fold even if it means having a useless button, but I would like to have the towing mirrors, doesn’t have to be OEM though. Not really interested in having $1200 sank into a set of mirrors if you know what I mean. Are there any reputable aftermarket suppliers that you would recommend? Thanks again Phil! 8. Hey @pgamboa I am thrilled by your responsiveness in this thread. I have been tossing the idea of upgrading to towing mirrors again after a failed first attempt (I wish there would've been a disclaimer, I drove around for probably two weeks before I noticed my front turn signals were not operating properly with the towing mirrors installed.) ... I am interested in either purchasing a DIY harness upgrade kit or a total harness setup from you. Here's my situation, 16 GMC 1500 SLT(all terrain pkg) with DL3 mirrors. I would like to upgrade to the DQS mirrors so as to not lose functionality of any of the buttons in my truck's mirror switch. If I were to purchase the DIY harness kit from you, will I have to pull out the BCM and repin those connectors as well or is this just adding wires to the door harness? I don't mind the thought of adding wires to my door harness/connectors but I'm a little iffy on pulling out one of the truck's control modules out and messing with the wires going directly into that... Thanks for your time!
