  1. I had a similar problem when I installed mine. I called Kicker, their solution was to unplug one of the wires at the speaker. Needless to say i won't be buying another Kicker sub.
  2. Looks great. I installed Nfab rock sliders in place of the factory running boards ( butter boards because the bend so easily) change them now while they are new and you can get money out of them.
  3. Add-ons or dealer installed options is how they make money. The largest Ram dealer in the nation is Dave Smith in Idaho, try buying a truck from them without window tint, some BS coating on the paint and a bug guard or some other BS option.. as long as we pay it they will continue to add it. I bought my last Chevy from them, this time I refused to buy all their add ons, I ended up buying a GMC from Dennis Dillion..no add ons from them.
  4. Agree, $399 is total BS. That's the kind of crap that gives dealers a bad name. 12k off is a good number. I bought mine in Boise ID from Dennis Dillion. Check their website. Their prices are posted . They have 2 SLT GMCs for 14k off.
  5. definitely sounds like you need to be super careful with how you wash it. If it's going through a car wash with brushes, any black car will look bad after a few of those. OnThereel said a 2 bucket wash is the best way... I couldn't agree more. One bucket has soapy water, the other is for rinsing... I rinse my wash mitt after i wash each panel both with the hose and in the bucket, then do the wheels and rockers with a separate mitt and do them last. Start with the glass and work your way down. Black is a pain to wash but looks awesome when it's cleaned and cared for properly.
  6. There is a little, I'm not sure if it's any different than the GM Cat back system. It doesnt bother me at all. I kept the flapper valves just in case and I have no intention of welding them back on.
  7. Yes the 5.3 has only one. Makes it easier to cut off if theres only one ?
  8. Not a stupid question at all. When they install the aftermarket muffler they can either cut off the valve and hand it to you so it can be reinstalled later if need be, or they can leave it. They are located behind and in front of the OE muffler (if you have a 6.2). I doubt there would be much of a performance difference if you leave them, however it will be quieter due to the restriction. I say cut them off, weld on the new muffler, give it a chance to break in and see if you like it. If it's too much, they can weld one back in. If it's still too much, weld in the other one. I would leave the resonators, they are straight through and don't offer any performance advantage if you cut them off.
  9. That won't help much.; They have a 1.25" restriction (as per the photo above) when open. Best to cut them off.
  10. The GM aftermarket cat back system does not use the flapper valves. That tells me they don't aid in horsepower, rather they restrict it.
  11. The GM exhaust kit does away with the flappers, there is no reason to keep them. It's cheaper and more effective to just cut the flappers off and install a Magnaflow or similar muffler and be done. A muffler shop can do it all in less than an hour. It's easy stuff for them.
