  1. Good point. My Silverado here in Northern Ohio sees plenty of cold weather, I just had brakes done for the first time and got to looking at suggested maintenance coming up, battery being one of the items. It still cranks strong, so I won't worry until it slows down. FWIW, I automatically turn off the stop start as soon as I start the engine.
  2. Bought new, 2019, been over 5 years so just wondering if anyone has replaced theirs. what's a top quality battery to buy?
  3. Interesting, they never even suggested it. Thanks!
  4. Question about brakes. I have a 2019 new style Silverado, 39.5k miles , starting to hear brake wear sensor scraping on rotor. I was told at oil change/ tire rotation that I had 4mm and 7mm front and rear back in October. Disabled the sensor on screen because it has a software issue or broken wire, kept telling me brake pad thickness was critically low, and I knew it wasn't. Seeing a small amount of marking on the drivers side rear rotor, which I'm assuming is the pad wear sensor. Pretty sure caliper is not hung, I've had a few of them over the years. At what wear point(mm) do they start making noise. I'm going to take it in to get looked at, was just wondering for future reference. Also, I did my own brakes for years, but serious back surgery has put a stop to that.
  5. Today the red" Service system" showed up on the Brake Pad Life monitor. No MIL, or check engine lights showing. Previously (1day ago) monitor said fronts at 40%, backs at 45%. Brakes seem normal no noise or pulling. 2019 new style Silverado, 36k miles Got a message from the phone app that says pads are critically low, and to schedule service immediately. Just had oil change and tire rotation at the dealer on Saturday and the 27(?) Point inspection and tech told me that the pads were, 5mm on front and 7mm on rear. My own visual inspection confirms this. Prior to this I had 2 instances of the DIC asking me to reset the brake pad monitor after new pads installed, after parking brake had been applied Anyone had any experiences like this?
  6. Currently replacing heated drivers side mirror on my 2019 new style Silverado. Both wires going to the terminals on back of mirror are identical color, as are terminals. I'm thinking it shouldn't make any difference but I want to be certain.

  8. Discovered the driver tail light cover is cracked, how that happened I have no idea. Does anyone has a suggestion on a glue to use? It's not completely broken, I think I can take it off, push the crack back out flush, and seal it with glue. The alternative is spending at least $200 for a new lens cover. Any ideas?
  9. Got an email the other day from GM about extending the warranty on my 2019 new style Silverado. Bumper to bumper is up in late November, and it has 26k on it currently. It's been flawless so far, just the Trans flush and refill with the updated fluid (TCC shudder, fixed). There are varying year/mileage coverages/2years 30k miles up to 6 years 72k miles. Does anyone, mechanics or otherwise have any experience, good or bad with this? Thanks in advance for any opinions.

  11. I had TCC shudder starting at 10k, 2019 T1 Silverado. Flush and fill with full synthetic fluid, fixed it, hasn't come back. They all have problems. Son's 2019 Ford XLT has been in the shop 3 times for cam phasers.
  12. I was told by sales that this is extra heavy paint to help with corrosion and rock chips.
  13. Oh ok, lol. I didn't care for the 2.7l when I test drove one. I got the 5.3, and it has been rock solid this far.
  14. Have you had the trans flush with the updated fluid? If not, it will make a difference, it did with my 2019.
  15. You can just swap the gas motor with a diesel?
