  1. I am still truck less-it’s ridiculous. 60 days nearly. The dealers are just marking up the limited inventory they do have. I won’t do it unless the deal is good. ? Thanks for the input! I will keep you posted.
  2. How are the oil changes? Could I do them from home? The Youtube videos all have people who have lifts at home! ? Ok, this 2.7 uses plain old 5W30? Not even semi synthetic? My 10 year old Venza still uses the 5w30 although the year later it went to full synthetic. I tend not to stray from the manufacturer but I thought this engine would require synthetic. I know they have oil life monitors I get it but I was thinking of just using the synthetic. I wont use the 20,000 mile stuff since I have trust issues(even with a filter change) =.
  3. Spize the two motors are very different. Ford’s 2.7 doesn’t compare at all and wasn’t designed to compete with it. Dual turbos, two extra cylinders and a 10 speed make it the upgraded engine choice. The Chevy 2.7 competes with the 3.3 from Ford and the 3.6 V6 from Ram. I’m wallet loyal not brand loyal. We will see. ?
  4. Appreciate the feedback. One month of shopping and still nothing. The dealers are nervous about inventory but apparently they’ve restructured their loans so they aren’t paying as much to the banks(they don’t own much of their inventory...it’s expensive) so they don’t seem to care much about little old me. I was hoping it would be this week but Chevy isn’t moving. Don’t know what to say. I will keep you all posted. The test drive was fine. It’s a quite truck and the suspension was decent-better than my Tundra was. The lag was not bad but it was there-it’s physics but I suppose it’s something you get used to. Thanks again.
  5. Still waiting... I did test drive the 2.7 though. Took some getting used to. ? It wasn’t life changing but wasn’t a deal breaker.
  6. Good to hear. Still waiting on my broker. Since LA county has their collective head up their arse things have been a lot slower in the process. Hopefully in a few days I will have the new truck.
  7. Yeah mine was 4x2 so 21 is what I remember. I’m waiting on my broker. I need to make an appointment to test drive when I know the models he found. I’ll let you know.
  8. I remember my 2006 Silverado had a 4.8 V8 at 285hp and honestly I think got around 21 highway. Miss that V8. The truck didn’t have any other issues cept the AC.
  9. Ok thanks? Test driving tomorrow hopefully! ?
  10. The shudder issue doesn’t seem to be an issue in 2020 with the new ATF but they’ve making the 8 speed for a while...guess that’s where I’m like ugh. I’m going to put away $100 a month to make sure I self warranty the truck. ? If I don’t need it then in 5 years I got a trade in and a decent down payment! Only down side is the 20k a year I do. It’s 90% highway so it’s not as tough on the engine and my youthful days of wanna be racing are gone!
  11. Well it’s taking longer because some car dealerships are essential and others aren’t...? I’m using a broker and Chevy isn’t really dealing too much actually... It’s now May so normally a good month to buy but we will see. ?
  12. No I read about the 8 speed transmission issues. That’s what’s scary.... I keep my vehicles for 100k miles or so. Ugh. I don’t buy the first year of anything so it’d be a 2020 but it’ll come down to price. The Ford eco boost or this. I’ll let you know. California is making this difficult during the pandemic.
  13. Yeah and they changed the torque converter but they’ve been making ATF fluid for a long time and couldn’t get that right? ?
  14. So as I research the 2.7 the transmission shudder issue seems to pop up... it appears that there was a fluid change and it helped some but not others... smh.
  15. I’m starting the buying process now. It’s down to price. Lol. Always is right?
  16. Honestly it’s Lowe’s and Walmart runs with a fam of 4. I’m figuring it all out now. T y.
  17. Guys arguing online is like pissing up a rope! I appreciate the info. I think the Duramax is just going to be too much $$$. I’m down to a Titan or this 2.7. I’m a teacher who has a school with an auto tech program so the kids change my oil(I always double check). T y all!
  18. lol thanks grandpa1. Can I ask what you paid for the truck (Approx is ok) I’m assuming diesel service is more... lol I saw people complaining about 0w20 oil for the Duramax lol my tundra did 10k intervals no problem with it. I get diesel is different as the fuel also lubricates and diesel oil is filthy even after 1000’miles. I changed the oil at 9500 miles and it was always fine. I will assume the 2.7 is 7500? T y again
  19. Thanks guys. The Duramax is too expensive. The AFE intake cost how much? Ironic I could not top 18 with my Tundra lol. Have a great weekend. If I could find a Duramax under 35k out the door crew I’d consider it. How much is the oil and fuel filters running people for the Duramax?
  20. Good Afternoon everyone. So I traded in my Yota(Tundra) a few months back. I love trucks-but I commute 80 miles a day but still need a family/life vehicle with decent gas mileage. The 2.7 hits that niche. I have been doing a lot of research and I am not comparing a single turbo to Ford's EB. So to anyone with a 19/20 2.7 Crew my question is it a decent truck? I dont tow and it will be 2wd. I have seen some CPOs but Chevy wants a lot for them. I dont see any crazy maintenance stuff either. The recalls for the wiring harness is the worst I have seen besides seat belts and airbags. I know the resale will be affected by a 4 banger but honestly,I dont mind. Thank you in advance. I tried to like Duramax but the cooling issues on top of price has be a bit shy to jump into that pool. Thanks again everyone.
