  1. Thanks to all for your input! I'll be making my decision this week as the truck will be out of the shop most likely on Wednesday with fresh paint on the bed. Since the big ARE fiberglass cover is off, I may replace those plastic pieces that go along the top of the bed. What exactly are those called? The ones on the truck are a little beat up from the old bed cover and I'd like to have ones that match the freshly painted bed. Thank you all, again!
  2. Hello all, I have searched through the forum to try to seek the answer I am looking for but me being very particular, I either didn't find what I was looking for or overlooked some information so many apologies if this is a "repeat thread". I purchased my 2015 Sierra Denali in June of 2020 and it came with the ARE Fiberglass locking bedcover. While it looks cool on the truck, I have hated this thing from day one for a few reasons. It's heavy to lift (mainly when my girlfriend drives the truck to the store) It doesn't open all the way (for when I load up rocks or mulch) I guess after years of use, it stared rubbing the actual metal of the bed frame when opening so that part is being repainted That being said, a family member decided to side-swipe my mailbox when they ran to the store over the weekend causing the damage pictured. I am taking off the ARE bed cover so my body man can paint where the old one rubbed off the paint all while he fixed the other blemishes on the truck. The question of the day: what bed cover is best recommended for durability (car washes, parking outside, etc), lock-ability (leaving minor tools in the bed overnight) and the capability of folding back so I can actually use the bed for moving things (mulch, rocks, furniture, whatever..) Below is a pic of the truck w/ the current bed cover and a pic of the lovely damage. The PIN stripes are being removed when the truck is fixed and the old cover will be removed and I'd like to get a new one put on right after it comes back from the shop (2 weeks). Thank you in advance for any insight and apologize again for those that have replied to hundreds (sarcasm) of other threads discussing the same stuff. Side note -- I was browsing this website to get a feel for ones that would be better than the current one. https://tonneaucoversworld.com/v/gmc/sierra-1500/2015/ Thank you! FYI -- anyone in the Charlotte / Asheville area need an ARE bedcover painted black? I am getting rid of it right when it comes off.
  3. I've been re-reading this thread for a few days now. I'm going to pull the trigger for my 2015 Sierra and just wanted to ensure I'm choosing the correct kit from Morimoto. https://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-elite-9012-hid-system?quantity=1 Is this the system that you all would recommend? It states for low beam and high beam which I think is what I need for my 2015 Sierra Denali. I'm going to choose 5000k as it's as close as I can really envision as a 2020 Yukon XL Denali. I'm really going for that color / brightness and want it to look as stock as possible. Thanks!
  4. Hi all! I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali about a month ago from a gentleman in Ohio (where I'm originally from). I've been in the market for a truck for about a year now but wasn't seriously looking. I found a few locally that sold before I could go check them out so I broadened my search and found a black on black Sierra in Dayton, OH. Oddly enough the owner was on vacation in North Carolina so I was able to check it out before going to Ohio to purchase it / check it out. Everything was perfect on the truck when I went to visit and I ended up going to Ohio to stay with my dad and purchase the truck the following weekend. I haven't driven it much as I've been out of town 3 of the 4 weeks since owning it! ? It's primarily stock but it does have a few things I suppose I can add: - WeatherTech floor mats - ARE bedcover with LED light (I fixed the hanging LED pictured) - Window & hood visor - 15% Window Tint - Ziebart bed liner Nothing fancy, just subtle little things! The only thing I do not like about the truck is halogen headlights. All of my other vehicles have HID's and I've done a few retrofits in the past and I was surprised a 2015 Denali didn't have HID's. My girlfriends father has a 2020 GMC Yukon XL Denali and I love the look of the HID's in his truck. Hopefully I can do some research here and find a kit that looks OEM like his 2020. Maybe someone here can point me in that direction! ? I will get some better pictures to put up on here once everything settles down from my recent travels. Looking forward to seeing some other trucks here and browsing around the forum. Best regards, Adam
