I have a 1985 k10 I had the 305 engine replaced with a 350 the shop I went to assured me that I was able to use all of the components from my old engine on the new engine, pulleys, carb, heads etc. Since getting the truck back I have had nothing but problems ranging from power issues under load to stalling went through 2 catalytic converters and have been stranded several times. Each time I get the vehicle back there are more problems that for some reason never seem to be fixed. With the advice from the shop I have had my carburetor rebuilt and have been told that it was a computer issue , the smog pump belt was removed to "fix" that issue and vacuum lines were moved in effort to fix the problem, it now runs super rich and has had starting problems. The shop then told me basically that the carburetor for this engine is a one year only carburetor and that they cannot find a new one or a replacement. In a nut shell I am left with an engine that does not run properly with the components that are on the engine. I'm In a bind and dont know what my options are any advice would be greatly appreciated.
