  1. Thanks Ken .. good to know, in my experience its not the norm but hey I'm always open so maybe it is for the 3.0 Time will tell I guess and the more we know the better
  2. Hey Thanks Joe thats good to know, hopefully it's something known about and GM has "checked off" thru testing. We'll just have to keep enjoying the 3.0 in the meantime .. Cheers !
  3. Thanks for the feedback .. I'll keep an eye on the overflow tank levels as that will show what's happening in longer terms. I've smelled that same smell many times before in the past (auto mechanic was my first career) and it has that distinct sweet component but hey I've been wrong before lol ! Must say .. I continue to be amazed on the capabilities on this unique powertrain but of course I've always been a GM / Chev fan
  4. New 2020 Sierra with 5K miles (8K Kms) .. Everything is running fine w/normal temps - no CEL etc, but once I shut down after an hour drive and walk around my truck a few mins after there has been a faint antifreeze smell at times but both tanks look to be at fill mark. Thinking it must be a slight hose leak or something .. I'll keep a close eye for now but checking hose connections is on my list .. wondering if anyone has had same question or maybe GM has alerted with a TSB ??
  5. Ok we got to the bottom of the issue My dealer did program the BCM (using GM factory accessory light kit code to GM) from the config file GM provided but since my truck did not come with fogs the cluster needs to be flashed as well. In talking to the Service Manager, he noted one of his techs had same issue before and they had to go back to GM and ask for another file to program the IPC (cluster) ... so with that I'm confident for my next dealer visit things will work as they should. Cheers ..
  6. Hey 316hepster thanks for confirming that .. I have an upcoming appointment so I’ll get them to look into it. Appreciate the help ..
  7. Hey guys / gals I recently had the GM factory accessory Fog kit activated at my local dealer and while the lights work on/off there is no indicator ... looking at the manual there is indeed a fog indicator in the DIC so I'm wondering why that did not get "activated" as well during the BCM programming ? Anyone else have a fog kit installed that can confirm about the indication of fogs being on / off much appreciated Thx Dave
  8. Anyone else have the GM fog kit added and can confirm about the indicator in the DIC would be appreciated Thanks and cheers !!
  9. Hey there ... we had the new truck to dealer recently and one item was for them to activate the fog lights by programming the BCM ... I installed the factory kit as per GM instructions (already wire in pin 10 BCM to C3 ) and I gave them the code sheet. The lights work with low beams only as normal but the fog DIC indicator does not illuminate so in daytime no way to tell. From manual It says the indicator should come on but service guy said there’s was no dictator when we picked it up ?? Noticed something the other day when truck running and just daytime driving light on when’s I select fog# to come on they do and the green headlight on indicator is on or off along with the fog selection. Anyone have an idea .... seems to me the sales guy said his demo LT had similar issue and they had to reprogram but I’ll have to check.
