  1. Just circling back, the coolant temp sensor did the trick. starts great every time.
  2. Very true but a good first step is to eliminate it electronically because that needs to be done anyways. When I am retired in a year or two, I will pull the heads and replace the cam, lifters, etc. It's always been my theory that pistons and rods just aren't along for the ride, they need to all work equally for an engine to survive.
  3. I am just learning myself as I bought my son's 2016 with only 33k on it. I would definitely go with an AFM delete either with a tuner or the Range plug in unit. I just stopped at a transmission shop as well because I have questions about the trans cooler. They will bypass the thermal bypass for the trans cooler (factory set up is for the trans fluid to bypass the cooler until it is 194 degrees) and change the tune on the trans to improve shift points and move the lockup between 4th and 5th gear instead of 2nd gear. They will also do the AFM delete for me. they want $500 for all this and it is probably worth it because the Range plug in is $200 anyways. I am big on preventative and it shows because I am just changing vehicles from the "91 GMC that I bought in 1992
  4. Thanks, I did find that finally after surfing for a couple hours. Is it sufficient? It also looks like I want to either change the thermal bypass valve to the lower 158 degrees or "flip the pill" to run the cooler all the time. What about retuning the shift points and lockup?
  5. You state that all 6 speeds have a trans cooler...Where is it located. I have not been able to find one on a new to me 2016 Silverado.
  6. not sure what the c.t.s. is...could it be leaking fuel into the manifold as it sits...and then it is flooded when I try to start it....sorry, the question mark does not work on my keyboard
  7. randomly my truck won't start, that is it cranks over but doesn't fire. Most of the time it fires right over on the start. When it does this, I can put the accelerator right to the floor and it will spit and sputter and about 5 cranks later will run enough to keep it running and clear it out. Then it runs great. I am just worried that it won't start one of these times.....It has been doing it for a couple years about 1x a month....thanks in advance for any help.
