So I have a 2006 Silverado Work Truck and I am doing some upgrades. I didn't think they are too difficult but I have an issue. I cannot communicate with the BCM after adding the RAP wire that was missing on the controller plug to turn on my after market radio through a relay relay. (I wired in the relay and the BCM actives it as expected)
It has the crank but no start issue. When the Key is activated the Security Light show's for a few seconds on the Dash and then goes off as normal.
All the basic BCM functions appear to work, doors activate the overhead light, Auto Headlights, AC engages, but this is a work truck so there is little else except the Passlock2.
I have tested the power wires to the BCM all test good.
I have tested the ground wires to the BCM all test good.
I have used the Tech2Win software on my Laptop. I can see various modules which are active, but the BCM is missing.
I have programmed the HVAC, PCM, IPC, and other modules with updates from the ACdelco SPS website, all complete with no problems.
So my next thought is to disconnect all the wires from the BCM except for the Power, Ground and Serial Wire to verify if I can get signal?
I have some extra pigtails for the BCM I took out of a LKQ Chevy Truck of the same year when I was gathering parts.
I also have a question on BCM Programming, watching a YouTube video I observed them programming the BCM by going to the Radio then selecting the BCM as a drop down.
My truck is a work truck and has an aftermarket radio, so I don't think that's the way it would program? or is it?
I'm scratching my head on this one. Any help on where to look or what to test is greatly appreciated.
