  1. I have the same issues on my 2019 Colorado z71 with the infotainment 8” display system. These issues of rebooting started happening randomly in October of 2020, along with the loss of adjustment to volume control. This problem happened after I allowed an over-the-air update to occur. Worst mistake I ever made the radio was fine until that software update. Dealer has replaced the head unit and still it is not fixed. They can’t seem to duplicate the issue. All they really need to do is come for a drive with me pretty consistent with it happening. Funny thing is my phone works fine with the same Apple iPhone and OEM cable on all my other vehicles Subaru, and BMW just not the Chevy that should probably be telling me something right there. I noticed others experiencing this or similar issues across multiple GM vehicles and model years, this it is a distracted driver issue that GM needs to resolve before someone get’s in an accident and seriously hurt. My guess is that the firmware update applied to the head unit broke Apple CarPlay on the head units. This is clearly not an Apple iPhone or Apple cable issue. The Dealership has tried to correct the problem but looks like I am now at the mercy of GM or third-party software developers correct the problem that they caused with the September/October update. My only other recourse would be to trade in the truck with only 26K on it.
