Hey thanks for the fuse suggestion. I searched the threads and found the one you are talking about. I followed the instructions and it seems to be works. Basically you have to pull the fuse while the engine is running then put the shift lever to 4x4 and put the fuse back. Fingers crossed that it continues to works! Thanks again.

Hi guys. I have been stuck in 4x4 since June when I used the 4x4 off-roading. When I used the switch to go back to 2x4 I got an error on the dash "service 4 wheel drive". I get that error ever time I start up now. When I scanned it I got code U0403-71: "Invalid Data Received From Transfer Case Control Module - Invalid Data". I took the 4x4 motor out and even took it apart - looks very good. Bought a different one (used but looks very good) and that did not change anything. Bought the module and plugged it in - also did not help (infact that does not communicate at all as I think it needs to be programed.) Its not like I never used 4x4, I would use it every now and then and even would use it in the winter. I really do not know what to do. I have a hunch that is is a software problem not a hardware problem. Anyone have had this problem before? Thanks
